I'm not big on this Wikipedia article -- for instance, the literal translation of "bodhisattva" is "mind hero" -- but it is good enough to suggest an alternative.
There are stages to such an undertaking. One of them is called "Difficult to Conquer" -- rendered as "Very Difficult to Train" at Wikipedia -- and it's about not trying to please people, not going along to get along, sticking to interaction aimed at enlightening being, not staying in the trapped mind with your brothers and sisters, steering clear of groupthink, and not minding that people think you're just being contrary... or... well... worse. It isn't for the faint of heart, and I'm an appalling specimen, but it's definitely here... in spades.
How does your garden grow?
ReplyDeleteI use my fancy lightweight spade to keep the soil loose and mix in the compost that makes it thrive....
