Note: I am so interested in things like remote viewing and what the space lizard researchers have to say about things because a very large number of what you call paranormal things have happened to me in my life. My teacher, at will, or at a tone, knows the moment something crucial dawns on me and calls me in that moment, from a great physical distance away. Completely unexplainable things have saved my life more than once. I can actually hear people thinking around me in moments of silent concentration, like while taking tests or meditating in the same room. I could go on and on.

I don't have this mountain of translations of the ancients around me for nothing. I have read almost all of them once, most of them twice, some of them six and five and four times, and I want to be reading them again. I want to calm my mind. I want to look at stuff beside the doings of the post turtle's torments. Genghis Yoo asked for it. He got it. He's not up to it.

I can't be the kind of help I want to be until I replenish my mind. The sorrow and anger will cause me to fail if I do not get my own kind of creativity and productivity back. I need to chill. So I'm listening to odd lectures. Trying to concentrate on who yanked me from that doorway, saying wrong sana, and why. It was so fast that I couldn't get the whole picture. I know it was a he. I know he grabbed my arm firmly and pulled me physically away from entering. I know he did it to protect me. But I don't know if he did it for me or Me. So I need to get back to my books.

I can't do my books when I want it so hugely. So I'm just dabbling and dipping in for a bit and then going off to pull weeds or watch a movie or listen to an interview or lecture... putter... let my muscles loosen... bat away thoughts that try to grab me... just generally get back my energy, stabilize it with virtue, and keep it. I haven't fallen all my ancients yet. It's my job.

So, really, I'm liable to be even more erratic than usual around here. I'm not tuning all the way out. I'm just getting my equanimity and using it for something beside a hat rack.

Yes, I'm afraid I may have settled on a new name for him.
US to expand Pakistan drone strikes
THURSDAY, MAY 06, 2010
16:07 MECCA TIME, 13:07 GMT

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been granted approval by the US government to expand drone strikes in Pakistan's tribal regions in a move to step up military operations against Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters, officials have said.

Federal lawyers backed the measures on grounds of self-defence to counter threats the fighters pose to US troops in neighbouring Afghanistan and the United States as a whole, according to authorities.

The US announced on Wednesday that targets will now include low-level combatants, even if their identities are not known.

Barack Obama, the US president, had previously said drone strikes were necessary to "take out high-level terrorist targets".

CONFLICTING FIGURES

"Targets are chosen with extreme care, factoring in concepts like necessity, proportionality, and an absolute obligation to minimise loss of innocent life and property damage," a US counterterrorism official said. [Total bullshit]

But the numbers show that more than 90 per cent of the 500 people killed by drones since mid-2008 are lower-level fighters, raising questions about how much the CIA knows about the targets, experts said.

Only 14 of those killed are considered by experts to have been high ranking members of al-Qaeda, the Taliban or other groups.

"Just because they are not big names it does not mean they do not kill. They do," the counterterrorism official said.

The US tally of combatant and non-combatant casualties is sharply lower than some Pakistani press accounts, which have estimated civilian deaths alone at more than 600.

Analysts have said that accurately estimating the number of civilian deaths was difficult, if not impossible.
[Because, let's face it, if you won't count to begin with, estimates really are difficult, if not impossible.]

"It is unclear how you define who is a militant and who is a militant leader," Daniel Byman, a counterterrorism expert at the Brookings Institution's Saban Center for Middle East Policy, said. [And would because he is employed for the sole purpose of maximizing Muslim deaths and Middle East / Central Asian chaos.]

Jonathan Manes, a legal fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union, said: "It is impossible to assess the accuracy of government figures, unattributed to a named official, without information about what kind of information they are based on, how the government defines 'militants' and how it distinguishes them from civilians."

US MESSAGE

Former intelligence officials acknowledged that in many, if not most cases, the CIA had little information about those killed in the strikes.

Jeffrey Addicott, director of the Center for Terrorism Law at St Mary's University, said the CIA's goal in targeting was to "demoralise the rank and file".
[Not to say demoralize everyone on earth.]

"The message is: 'If you go to these camps, you're going to be killed,'" he added.

Critics say the expanded US strikes raise legal as well as security concerns amid signs that Faisal Shahzad, the suspect behind the attempted car bombing in New York's Times Square on Saturday, had ties to the Pakistani Taliban movement, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
[They're using purported dud car bombs in New York to up drone strikes in Pakistan?]

CIA-operated drones have frequently targeted the group over the past year in Pakistan, and its members have vowed to avenge strikes that have killed several of their leaders and commanders.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pakistan's foreign minister, told CBS television channel that the US should not be surprised if anti-government fighters try to carry out more attacks.
[Brace yourself.]

"They're not going to just sit and welcome you to eliminate them. They're going to fight back," Qureshi said.
Yes, yes, I really think I have.
.

Except, both the New America Foundation and li'l ol' Wikipedia do not seem to have bought-in to this impossible-to-count business....

And, well, nobody could have imagined terrorists would fly planes into buildings either.

The great thing about pumping people with outrageous whoppers is that it completely snows dopes and people who aren't paying much attention; it flabbergasts those who are listening so flabbergastingly that they can do naught but be flabbergasted all over themselves and the rest of us, causing us to tune out and them to detonate; and, finally, it gives all those beleaguered journalists something to parrot where there'd be an embarrassment of facts to insert. This last leads to informed sorts writing interminable essays on the wrongness of the media types, and man's inhumanity to man, and paralyzing everyone with the enormity of it all.

Truth is: Even ONE slaughter by drone attack is unacceptable.
.

So it's Genghis Yoo, baby, not only from now on, but also retroactively. Having not only continued Dubya's policy of turning rural innocents into jam, but increased the frequency and ordered a shitload more, conquering hordes more, drones to get 'er done, and having not only continued John Yoo's policy of torturing the Constitution to an unrecognizable pulp, but actually raised this activity to high art, our president shall hereinafter be referred to as "Genghis Yoo".

At the rate he's going, we may have to give him a middle name like maybe "Madoff" or possibly just plain "Ponzi" or something....

Any suggestions?

Deeper.... Deeper.... You are so deeply asleep that you will not wake up until I say it's okay. I have taken you into the deepest unconscious and you will not remember what we have said, but when you awaken the traumas of your past lives will cease to interfere with this one. You will feel refreshed and free to live up to your innate potential.

Now, let's start by finding out where you were in 1692....

Here.

You lived in this town?

No. In 1692 I was in this room with you.

Well, this clearly isn't working. I want you to go deeper. You're so sound asleep that nothing in the world can awaken you except my command. Is that right?

That's right.

Okay, where were you in 265 b.c.?

Here... with you.

Please explain.

It's always right now.

Releasing you from your past lives is crucial to your happiness. We need to talk about your past lives.

I have no past lives.

You mean you're a new spirit? This is your first life?

This is my only life.

Well, only for this go-round. There will be more.

I'm not a person. There won't be more. I'm already all.

Why did you come to me?

I don't want to be here.

You mean somebody forced you to hire me?

No. I mean I don't want to be here.

You want to be dead?

I don't want to be in this world.

Oh, you come from another one and want to go back?

I don't want to be in any world.

Why, then, did you come?

To save sentient beings.

I can see that would leave you little time for a husband and family. Is that why you never married?

Yes. I wanted to, but I couldn't find one who could get and stay on my wavelength. It always turned into generate karma or split. I tried everything. They all felt that call but couldn't live in it.

Well, maybe now you will be able give up this "wavelength" thing and get that life companion after all....

No. They won't let me be on my wavelength and stay with me. I tried that. I don't want to waste time with that anymore. You can't ever not want it in these bodies, but you waste time trying to placate that desire.

I've never had a client without past lives before, so I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.

You've never had a client with past lives, as you perceive them, and your perception is confusing everyone. Everyone is everyone else... who ever was or ever will be. So you can get every life story out of everyone who ever comes to you, if you have that long.

I guess trotting out some particularly salient ones could help people get past particular neuroses, but what about THE neurosis of "self"? Shouldn't you be considering leaving your clients with
that clue?

I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about.

I'm afraid it's time for you to wake up now.

The slick in the Gulf might not have behaved nearly this accommodatingly in its first days. People are getting a little time to protect what they can. I'm going to dream enough will be accomplished before hurricane season might overcome every defense and every mitigation.

I am mindful that every interactive map out there could be deliberate or wishful-thinking bunkum, and there's no way to downplay the seriousness of this disaster, but there's room for hope as long as everyone does what can be done as quickly as possible.

If what the space lizard people, "alternative" scientists and historians and researchers, are saying is true, there are going to be plenty of these disasters requiring us to work very hard to save ourselves and each other, increasingly so. The good part of this is the working together part, the need to think in terms of life preservation instead of personal advantage and political brinksmanship. Humans are heroes in the midst of emergencies. We DO stop thinking of ourselves. We risk our lives for strangers and for critters in trouble. All our differences dissolve and we start being who we are.

Part of my mission here is to help you get there without the disasters bringing down your own house, or dropping the bridge from beneath your car, or falling overboard, or a mountain coming down on you, or troops breaking down your door, or a bomb out of nowhere blowing your neighbors to smithereens in their sleep....

polanski speaks

If this were not a fascist brute country, this would be the end to it.
I can remain silent no longer!
ROMAN POLANSKI

Throughout my seven months since September 26, 2009, the date of my arrest at Zurich Airport, where I had landed with a view to receiving a lifetime award for my work from the representative of the Swiss Minister of Culture, I have refrained from making any public statements and have requested my lawyers to confine their comments to a bare minimum. I wanted the legal authorities of Switzerland and the United States, as well as my lawyers, to do their work without any polemics on my part.
I have decided to break my silence in order to address myself directly to you without any intermediaries and in my own words.

I have had my share of dramas and joys, as we all have, and I am not going to try to ask you to pity my lot in life. I ask only to be treated fairly like anyone else.

It is true: 33 years ago I pleaded guilty, and I served time at the prison for common law crimes at Chino, not in a VIP prison. That period was to have covered the totality of my sentence. By the time I left prison, the judge had changed his mind and claimed that the time served at Chino did not fulfil the entire sentence, and it is this reversal that justified my leaving the United States.

This affair was roused from its slumbers of over three decades by a documentary film-maker who gathered evidence from persons involved at the time. I took no part in that project, either directly or indirectly. The resulting documentary not only highlighted the fact that I left the United States because I had been treated unjustly; it also drew the ire of the Los Angeles authorities, who felt that they had been attacked and decided to request my extradition from Switzerland, a country I have been visiting regularly for over 30 years without let or hindrance.

I can now remain silent no longer!

I can remain silent no longer because the American authorities have just decided, in defiance of all the arguments and depositions submitted by third parties, not to agree to sentence me in absentia even though the same Court of Appeal recommended the contrary.

I can remain silent no longer because the California court has dismissed the victim’s numerous requests that proceedings against me be dropped, once and for all, to spare her from further harassment every time this affair is raised once more.

I can remain silent no longer because there has just been a new development of immense significance. On February 26 last, Roger Gunson, the deputy district attorney in charge of the case in 1977, now retired, testified under oath before Judge Mary Lou Villar in the presence of David Walgren, the present deputy district attorney in charge of the case, who was at liberty to contradict and question him, that on September 16, 1977, Judge Rittenband stated to all the parties concerned that my term of imprisonment in Chino constituted the totality of the sentence I would have to serve.

I can remain silent no longer because the request for my extradition addressed to the Swiss authorities is founded on a lie. In the same statement, retired deputy district attorney Roger Gunson added that it was false to claim, as the present district attorney’s office does in their request for my extradition, that the time I spent in Chino was for the purpose of a diagnostic study.

The said request asserts that I fled in order to escape sentencing by the U.S. judicial authorities, but under the plea-bargaining process I had acknowledged the facts and returned to the United States in order to serve my sentence. All that remained was for the court to confirm this agreement, but the judge decided to repudiate it in order to gain himself some publicity at my expense.

I can remain silent no longer because for over 30 years my lawyers have never ceased to insist that I was betrayed by the judge, that the judge perjured himself, and that I served my sentence. Today it is the deputy district attorney who handled the case in the 1970s, a man of irreproachable reputation, who has confirmed all my statements under oath, and this has shed a whole new light on the matter.

I can remain silent no longer because the same causes are now producing the same effects. The new District Attorney, who is handling this case and has requested my extradition, is himself campaigning for election and needs media publicity!

I can no longer remain silent because the United States continues to demand my extradition more to serve me on a platter to the media of the world than to pronounce a judgment concerning which an agreement was reached 33 years ago.

I can remain silent no longer because I have been placed under house arrest in Gstaad and bailed in very large sum of money which I have managed to raise only by mortgaging the apartment that has been my home for over 30 years, and because I am far from my family and unable to work.

Such are the facts I wished to put before you in the hope that Switzerland will recognize that there are no grounds for extradition, and that I shall be able to find peace, be reunited with my family, and live in freedom in my native land.

Roman Polanski
(Tr. Janet Lizop)
Truly, Gunderson's sworn testimony back in February should have put an end to it. In point of FACT, it SHOULD have been over, per agreement, after Polanski served his time.

It's like the shit in the OJ trial. Searching his property without a warrant should have thrown the case out. The prosecution had nothing but vehemence to offer. The defense showed the police had tampered with evidence to try to make the case. In the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that stuff tells EVERYBODY that whether the defendent did it is NO LONGER AT ISSUE. But no. Citizens piss all over the Constitution and expect it isn't going to lead to this sort of thing, and people being handed DEATH SENTENCES on circumstantial evidence alone... on don't-like-the-cut-of-his-jib non-evidence alone... and serving one's time isn't even enough for us anymore. No WONDER its so easy for Presidents to shit all over us.

I dreamed of my father, loose and lucid, again. This time he was at home... not one I recognized, but supposedly our house. There were all kinds of ugly and annoying things going on, neither of us was okay with this, and my mother was off at some social function. I kept asking him questions between my expressions of glee that he was home at last and out of his imprisonment. Then somehow someone made it known to me that it was only temporary and Mom was going to put him somewhere worse. Soon she came home and she confirmed this... in a very off-hand and of-course manner... and went about fixing her makeup.

Then I was on the phone, trying to get a muckitymuck at Mendocino Redwood Company to fix a hazardous situation with a tree left half cut, which had been Agent 86's responsibility, which I'd ended up pleading with a lesser muckitymuck at MRC to fix, and he didn't, or couldn't, and I didn't and couldn't, and the muckitymuck was not grasping the imperative that there was a half-sawn ancient gonna hurt somebody out there. I was being adamant.

Then I realized it was MY half-sawn ancient and everything went black.
.

I was watching a space lizard video the other night and there was one guy in it I wanted to hear more from. As I was deciding this, I knew he was dead. I didn't pay any attention and started googling for other stuff from him. He's dead.

I was listening to a conversation between space lizard researcher guys last night and one of them said this weird alternating between warm and cold we've been having is the herald of a new ice age and a polar shift... says the North Pole is going to be somewhere in Siberia in the next few years, that, roughly, Canada will occupy our coördinates and we will occupy Mexico's and Central America's. This sounds feasible to me right about now.

I'm going to town now.

But when I get back I'm going to work on that dangerous tree.

i think i have to give up on horse racing

.
I have been looking through all the top horses' bloodlines and there isn't a one of them who doesn't have just shitloads of the Native Dancer genes in them. Same as last year. Every horse in the race... maybe every Thoroughbred by now... has too much of this dazzling bloodline that runs too strongly to WEAK bones. I stand firmly in my conviction that the Jockey Club should open up the stud book to let in some Akhal-Teke stallions. They're leaner, with very strong legs, fast and the closest living descendants of the Turkoman Horse, one of which was a foundation stallion for the Thoroughbred breed, and... well... I'm starting to stress again... SOMEONE has GOT to get smart about this.

Eskendereya was a serious favorite for today's race, winning everything scarily well, but is chock-full of Northern Dancer [out of a Native Dancer mare] and a bunch of other closely-related horses from that same line, and, yep, they had to scratch him from the Derby because of a leg "filling". I'm very glad they did. Saved us from witnessing another Eight Belles tragedy. Maybe the assholes will let him grow before they send him out pounding on the track again... gelded....

OR, all Thoroughbred racing should be moved back a year, not let them start at all until they're three, and wait to put FOUR-year-olds in the big races. I don't think it is that they NEVER get strong. It's just that they're not fully-formed this early and people are too goddam greedy.

Maybe I shouldn't worry. Maybe they will have inbred so much by next year that the foals will just crumble before they are even weanlings.
.

he did it in the florida derby too

.
Ice box would seem to be a come from behind in the mud kind of guy. He did it at Florida and ALMOST nailed it in Kentucky. He almost didn't in Florida and, if you watch, you can see his head was waaay in the air for the first half of his run. I can't remember seeing that before. I've seen them start gawking at the stands or zigzagging when the jockey has put the petal to the metal, but I don't remember ever seeing one with his nose in the air like that while running dead out. Jumpers do that when boxing toward a hurtle, but I think what's up with Ice Box is that he's just a bit greener than he should be right now. Probably a regular neon-brained colt who's just not in the groove yet.

Or, don't listen to me. I've always been a sucker for the come-from-behind winners... I mean waaaaay behind. It takes all kinds of horse to do that. Granted, this usually means that they can't do it if there's too much speed for too much distance, but the ones who do these in such hot company can do it any day of the week.

I've spent an hour looking for the most spectacular of these wins ever, but I'm going senile and can't remember the name or the race. It was huuuuuge... and I can see it in my mind's eye like it was yesterday... but I haven't been able to dig up the specifics enough to share it here.
.

Well, and I don't like his legs. He's got a heck of a lot of that Native Dancer weak legs syndrome blood in him too... not forgetting that even where Native Dancer wasn't in the mix, the same stallions and broodmares who went into Native Dancer went into the other horses in his bloodline... and... you can see it in his legs.
.

super saver?

.
Sounds like a damn catalog entry....

Only photo I've seen of the race so far is too demoralizingly muddy to bother with. Very handsome colt, though, and solid Buckpasser stock, with a much lighter dosage of Native Dancer horses, so that's a relief. I can now hope he gets all three and not be so worried his legs will blow up.
.

Holy fuck! The most thrilling part was seeing Ice Box go into hyperdrive from the back of the pack—utterly slimed—for second... I swear, given half a second longer, he'd've won by twenty lengths, he was going so fast! Good Christ on a Crutch! On that AWFUL bog of a track, that animal was traveling. I'm gonna have to pick him for the Belmont. THAT fast at the end of a mile and a quarter, means for dead certain he's got the distance. Probably not the sprint for the Preakness, but, whoa... he was going so fast that even though I knew Super Saver won it, I thought Ice Box was going to put him away.

Yipes.
.

Ouch! I gotta take that back. Ice Box has the sprint all over everybody. Dammittalltoheck! Shit! He should've won today. We would have had the Triple Crown at last.
.

Whull, unless Eskandereya gets back in, that is....

But, really, now, we gotta root for the pretty horsie with the stupid name.
.

we gotta root for lookin at lucky

.
Since Eskendereya was scratched, and I have to be relieved because I'd've been dying of anxiety about him living through it, my mother tells me that we must root for Baffert's horse, because Baffert is always nice to my mother, and that counts on the odds.

Except... heavy sigh... it appears Lookin at Lucky has more Native Dancer in his pedigree even than Eskendreya has, so I'm back on the hook. Sidney's Candy, somehow, doesn't do it for me, and I wish he would because he's got sturdier, if less classy, bloodlines. I swear, I'm already getting heartburn.

On top of everything, the track's a total mess....
