Oh boy....

After an ugly campaign, the critical Pennsylvania primary could end in humiliation for Hillary.

Big Dan's worried about the people fighting against extending the deadline for mail-in votes in Pennsylvania. Very un-American to fight to lower the number of people's votes counted, but, er, it's going to hurt Hillary if we let everyone there vote....

Australia's 2020 Summit is on... actually, being as they are a day ahead of us, it's probably wrapping up already... but, sigh, don't you wish our government would throw a shindig for our thousand best minds and....

I wonder if Ann is there? I hope so. That would rock.

the killing zone (gaza)

[49 minutes]

I got this from Ann El Khoury, who is one of the best sources I know for what is really going on in the Middle East. I know people who still flip about the "maniac" Palestinians who will blow themselves up to kill "innocent" Israelis. Even if you only watch the first ten minutes of this, it should answer that. SIXTY years of this stuff! WHEN will it be over?

Seem to be more and more ministers of the Abrahamic who are very worth our respect and aren't getting it.

Statement by Rev. Michael L. Pfleger
on Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright's Visit to the Church on March 28, 2008

On Friday, March 28, 2008, I invited Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. to Saint Sabina’s African American Speaking Series, where Dr. Maya Angelou was the guest speaker. I invited Dr. Wright because he is a friend, mentor and hero of mine and because he is someone for whom I have great respect. I also invited him to feel and see the great love and respect people have for him.

As I said on Friday, Dr. Wright is one of the great biblical scholars of our country and the best of preachers in the prophetic tradition. Dr. Wright has been shamefully demonized by 30 second sound bites that have tried to re-define him into someone other than who he is.

I believe the attacks on Dr. Wright are two-fold.

As a back door entrance to attack and try and weaken Senator Barack Obama.

To stifle the freedom of prophetic preaching in the church.

Both of these are unacceptable! I stand with Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. as a friend and as a preacher who I respect.

If everyone did, and more understood the deeper meanings of their sayings and poetry, this planet would be paradise for the rest of time.

That's why Giblets is so certain this final crippling blow to the Obama candidacy will be the finalest and most crippling of them all! By implying that the economic immiseration of America's rural underclass has made them somehow unhappy, Obama has alienated America's heartland!

They are griping about a positively wonderful use of that picture. What the heck is wrong with everyone? Is it better to be pissy about every little thing you can turn up about something just so you can avoid the issue itself? No. We do it with every single issue that faces us. It's driving me nuts! I don't care how short a trip that is! The world is crazier than I am!

owls

[click picture]

My friend Scott took this picture of a great horned owl nest in the eucalyptus trees along the trail near the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. This is actually a crop of his picture, but we're concentrating on the baby owltude here....

[Heh. Only took bitching about it to get the uploading problem fixed....]

trouble at blogger now

I've been trying to upload a picture of some baby owls for a couple hours, and no dice, on any browser, and I don't want to talk about Pravda's handling of last night's debate, or the damn horse race at all.

So I'm just hangin' back in Zenland for a while to see the way forward. Maybe I'll try to get my own computer set up here while all this functionality is down the intertubes... or start networking for a barn with broadband somewhere closer to real physicians... or an Icelandic millionaire of my very own...?

doctors!

[click picture]

It's a tie between more myelopathy and thyroiditis... in a nutshell. It's more complicated than that, but doctors all over god's green earth are alert and testing the living snot out of me. I'm a crimped up pin cushion about now, and on the verge of becoming pilled to a smithereen as well. Oh! Well.

Bottom line is: we will find out what can be done and do it. I have a couple weeks of hanging at the parental units' place before I have to go back and face all the traffic and scrubs and waiting rooms and machinery again. I tellz yez they're all on speed down there!

[Davis has left the building and I am heartbroken.]
