PLEASE GO TO THE NINES FROM NOW ON

.

Kindly adjust yer settings. Kindly bookmark it, and you can always come back here if you miss the sidebar or the labels or whatever, but I'm going to stop blogging here, and start blogging there right away. They say it takes up to three days for the intertubes to realize you're there so you might not have much luck googling it for a while.

Here's the feed link for feedheads, but I promise the new place will be easier to load and maybe even more monitor-friendly for most.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but it was time.

before i speak, i have something important to say

.

JUST SHOOT ME.

They're dumping BUBBLE BATH on a nuclear meltdown, okay?

JUST SHOOT ME.

.

4am the next morning....

Please forgive me checking out on you for the most of the afternoon and all of the night, but between a number of creepy things happening in the background of this sector of Outer Blogistan, my general dissatisfaction with the content of communicating on the tubes, my Plutonian sleep "cycles", the need to get my ass in for more antibiotics to hold me over until my root canal appointment, and the general draggitude and pain of this tooth thing demanding I get some serious sleep under my belt, I just had to drop off the radar.

Thank you, all, for leaving me a bunch of links. That is one great aspect of blogging, when your friends come by with stuff to contribute. I wish more of you had the time or the interest to talk outside this crap we are forced to call the zeitgeist, but that actually is the story of my life.

Speaking of which, I just made a couple new playlists of Michael Tsarion stuff from which anyone might benefit—mind control and tarot—particularly the discussions about how your consciousness is manipulated by people who look at you as though you were no more significant than livestock, but I keep wanting to hear him on tarot and numerology because I think these are wuwu, the affectations of bliss ninnies, and it has been made apparent to me that he does not mean by these things anything like I've been indoctrinated to view them. So I am working on dropping my mental conditioning to eventually come to know what he means by that. He's obviously serious as a heart attack and has proven to me his level of insight, so it's worth it to me to make a real attempt to understand it. Again, one must approach this sort of thing very carefully. One must DROP what one already thinks for the duration of one's listening and give it a special sort of attention I have been calling "thought experimenting". If you can't do that, it's useless to waste your time on him... or, for that matter, me.

And, then, while I was about it, I put it together for you to listen about HAARP, should you be so inclined.

Anyway, the creepy stuff is making me seriously consider moving this show to an entirely new blog, again. This time it might really happen. I'll think about it some more.

i have not learned my lesson

I seem to need to return to find a true original, or a person of real taste, or evidence of greater consciousness, or something. It's not enjoyable! It's worse than... no, no, no, it's not worse than the fake Zennies and "poets" of blogistan... I so needn't exagerate! It's as bad as all that.

So I've resurrected evidence of my irk from last month here, and may be adding to it while in the midst of rechecking for whatever the heck it is I keep looking for. I really think I'm wanting to stumble over some profound insight somewhere in the worldwide cobwebs.

.

The trick to good muffins is stirring the batter just barely enough to get everything blended.

Strawberry Muffins

1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped strawberries

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare an 8 cup muffin tin, or use paper liners.

In a small bowl, combine oil, milk, egg and vanilla. Beat lightly. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and sugar. Toss in chopped strawberries and stir to coat with flour. Pour in milk mixture and stir together only to moisten.

Don't over-mix.

Fill muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 minutes, or until the tops bounce back from the touch. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans.

Another woman's husband asked her what she was doing with so many butterflies. She didn't know, but aren't they cute? She took about 700 pictures of them, from every conceivable angle, and posted them all on her blog.

She cut up a DICTIONARY toward this end.

There is a definite protocol to this. You may post bright colors if you have small children. If you're a grandmother, everything in your life is a variation on white. Lavender sprigs allowed. If you live in the country you can have piles of gewgaws in any color scheme or none, but you cannot leave out bits of straw and lots of shots of you and your posse at the flea market. You call Size 14 women "skinny".

A terrifying number of them have the identical template, and an only slightly less frightening number of them have music blaring at you shortly after you've clicked in, but every last one of them has at least one instance of this and it hurts me to see so many women with nary an original thought in their heads laboring away to rejoice in this stuff. Maybe you begin to catch why I was never in the kitchen talking babies and shopping at dinner parties, but out in the living room talking about everything in the cosmos with their husbands.

But, once in a while, you run across someone with something truly amazing to impart... well.... That's not fair. Each has something, but mostly it's interchangeable. I'm nearly expert by now.... Anyway, I knit like this guy does, so I don't.

Just hopeless.

A great many of these women try hard to make their houses look like barns. I want to make a barn my house.

.

Mister North popped in recently to taunt me about my barn loft with bathtub up in the cold climes of Canada, knowing full-well my desperation, and wishing, I suppose, as boyz do, to pull my pigtails in class. Maybe it's a search for a feasible alternative driving me. Who can tell?

.

Seleta says "faith and family are most important" while enjoying her "coastal beach home"... and, except for the unique location away from the welter of inland beach homes, that's pretty much the story across the board. I'm gonna go out on a limb here to say I'm pretty much convinced she means the Redneck Riviera and am hoping her blog isn't the only clean and healthy thing left in her life... but I really have to just hope it because I sure don't see any mention of it.

.

I have been wrong all along. The white fanaticism has spread to parents of very short people. I also found a tumblr page by a young man who is heavily into sex, anything made by Apple, surfing, the word "fuck" and WHITE interiors. He, uhm, had many images of more hundred-dollar bills than anyone has lying around like that, and almost never veered from Malibu.

.

<— I found this image at a number of design blogs... in white. I changed that part. Do you suppose they were giving themselves pep talks? Being ironic? Genuinely feeling it? Pleased by the name? Wearing it like a designer shirt? Or carrying it like an iPhone? Or is it just that we don't have the little snippets on paper anymore to tape to a mirror?

my first doctorate was in old movies

.

There's the most wonderful old motel down in Crescent City. It's called The Curly Redwood Lodge and it is made completely from one ancient redwood. This would offend my sensibilities no end, except it was built before there was anything like a shortage of redwoods and I'd say these many decades of good service to travelers was far better than the idiots who cut down trees so huge they completely forgot they had NO way to get them to the mill, deciding to make use of the stumps as dance floors.... So, anyway, many was the time when I'd gone walkabout where I ended up there, and find myself not wanting to leave. Not liking Crescent City one bit, but wanting to be in the arms of that tree, with it's pristine clean tile bathrooms, and Turner Classic Movies on the tv... low key... peaceful... not a trace of this steaming dung heap we call our "culture"... just blessed rest... in the arms of an ancient... with the sounds of the sea. When I think of it, I always picture myself watching Notorious, swooning, imagining, just as I did when I was a very young girl.

good news for feedheads and people with shrimpy monitors

.

Blogger has decided to give you a passel of new ways to view my blog, including one that cuts the width of this puppy down by at least a third... maybe even shrinks things into submitting to your iPad cathexis problem... though, surely not for your phone.... Oh, my. Anyway, I checked it out and I think you get radically TMI when you use any of the image-driven views, but the one called "sidebar" could make life around here happier for you if you don't have a monitor big enough to take in the whole blogscape. I'm not going to be a bitch about all the work I've put in on my own sidebar over the years, solely for your entertainment and edification and consolation while trapped inside your home due to radiation alerts.... Nope. I'm Zen. No sweat.

You should know that the image-driven view modes do rock, but they keep loading and loading and loading and loading and loading and loading thousands upon thousands upon thousands of images from this blog and your computer might start giving off cesium-137 particles and smoking alarmingly before blowing up in your face, depending, I'm guessing, on your RAM and/or connection speed.

To check this out for yourself: GO HERE.

I'm pretty sure the default lands you on "sidebar", which is the optimal one for my blog, so then you can decide to risk a meltdown with the other ones or enjoy how this blog for once fits on your screen, and reduces loading time like maaaad.

.

If there are comments already on a post, you can see them from that view, but if you want to comment on something that doesn't already have comments, you have to click in with the title, instead of any comment prompt. That's probably no different than usual for feedheads, but anyone switching to that view from the main page view needs to know it. What is different for feedheads is that you can view the comments from this setup at all... but I don't know if you can get it fed to you. You might just have to bookmark the link. I'm sure this will be evolving... and it won't work on any Blogger sites where the owner has switched off the feature.

.

Although the views are pleasingly clean, the background is white and does not match my template, nor is there a feature for switching the background to something that gives off less glare. I'm just grateful it doesn't look as shitty as the ordinary feed views.

I see little comments here and there that the feeds thing is going out of style, so maybe that isn't all bad. I don't know. You'd think I'd go for feeds, being as how I'm so absentminded, but they're too damn pushy and esthetically depressing to me. I revile the idea of filling my inbox with notifications of posts from far and near as well. I like choices, but I don't like being buried. I've been told that the reason people become addicted to Facebook is that all their friends' likes get blasted over to them and soon they daren't so much as run for a pee or they've missed something. Sounds like hell to me. Bad enough one becomes paranoid about missing something off the news wires in the throes of maintaining a reputation as a "with it" blogger. I don't like being "out of it" or "with it". I tell you, it's hell being me!

does radiation agree with tulips?

.

My tulips are blowing my mind. They almost never bloom because someone, whenever, planted them where they just don't get enough sun, but when they do, it's underwhelming. Seriously. There's only four of them, and they wanly try to shoot up at least a leaf every year, but this year they, all four, have shot up all their leaves and all four have bright red blossoms on them. The forget-me-nots near them are also a darker blue. I'd be singing odes to my compost right now, except compost didn't interest them before and this year there is lots of nice, benign, radiation urging them to new heights.

I'd like you to contemplate that these numbers they set to call "safe levels" are NOT safe. They are merely the levels below which there is no data to prove its malignancy. This is a crucial distinction, and everyone trying to sooth your fears about this matter is deciding for you that it's best not to ALARM you. Alarm has its good points, especially if you are not a pinhead. Yes, yes, it has been established that the United States does have the highest pinhead to average adult ratio on Earth and in history, but shielding you from information that can be crucial to your health ONLY perpetuates that.

preposterous — it just keeps getting more preposterous

.

I keep trying to look at it with an eye to post something you might want to know about, but [1] it just struck me today that I have to go to some ancient reading glasses to replace my faltering computer glasses so I can actually see what is on my screen; and [2] this has not made any of it seem less preposterous to me. This, you will agree, is saying something. I'm up for the preposterous. I'm going for a doctorate in it, in fact. But I don't care how out there I've ever managed to follow in this whole endeavor, it doesn't come up to the preposterousness of the news wires over the last few weeks. It didn't before, but they threw us in a cosmic washing machine two weeks ago, and we have gotten nowhere near the rinse cycle yet.

I used to dye stained old white things some pleasing color instead of immediately consigning them to the dustbin of history. When there was a lot of it, I'd use the washing machine for this task. It involved continually resetting the agitate cycle so that it kept agitating for an hour before letting it proceed through it's normal cycles. This is like that.

Maybe this doesn't make as much sense to you as I think it should because I've noticed over the course of my life that my brain activity assumes patterns, patterns of motion. I could feel my brain working like a crossword grid while in my crossword puzzle compulsion phase. Klondike. My brain loves the Klondike solitaire pattern, and it's big on mahjongg too. Its most preferred mode is definitely ocean, but the worst, the one that bullhorns T-R-O-U-B-L-E is the washing machine agitate cycle motion. Everybody run when that happens.

And if you don't, I can make you, without even touching you.

This is the motion the news wires are causing in my brain right now.

let us break for a moment to contemplate just how out there i really am

.

It is conceivable I'm not even from here.

.

In celebration, I turn to concentrate on torsion physics and fascism, and resolve to continue seeking out bits to hear or hear again that perform the function of sharpening my understanding of what is going on, why, for instance, we could possibly find someone of Steven Chu's stature saying what he has said on TV, to the whole world, despite the oceans of evidence putting the lie to it. That's just one instance of the counterintuitive phenomena this stuff helps contextualize, and I submit you have been trained to find it out there precisely so you cannot ever possibly play with a full deck.

.

Next I'm trying an Ickequake... which may or may not end up being the wrong kind of out there, but I won't know until I try.

If I summon the courage to look at the news again tonight, I will surely update you somewhere here, but, above all, one must not let that stuff close in on one's inner cosmos. It's gotta stay clear and wide open. This involves a special sort of attention, one that can almost be called an entertainment, but is deadly serious stuff in the true mind, the one mind. So continually goofing off and calling it necessary to maintain sanity, or mind expansion, or sane, isn't funny... or fun... or you wouldn't be so fucking sensitive about it. No. The engagement, the absorption, must be childlike, not childish. You can definitely tell which track you're on by checking-in with that distinction. It's just the kind of attention that is childlike, not the one attending, don't forget. You aren't soaking it all up like a sponge because you don't know any better. You are soaking it all up like a sponge because you are strong enough to absorb things and take only the nutrients and eliminate the toxins and chaff.

Do you remember your strength? Step back. Take a look.

.

Okay, I can tell already the one bit you do NOT want to miss is THIS ONE....

.

The rest of it is proving nearly unendurable for me, but I'm hangin' in to hear Judy Wood, somewhere near the end. Susan Lindauer is talking right now, and somehow I have a hard time listening to her stuff.... I don't know exactly the source of my disinclination to listen to her, but it has been present every single time I've heard her on any subject. The poor thing has been through hell, and so the stridency of righteous indignation seems to have permanently entered into her tone and demeanor. Yuck. She blessedly ends somewhere in the middle of the tenth video here.

Judy Wood starts at minute 8 on video 10. Some people might have trouble listening to her—she's not exactly a showbiz type, to say the least—but I admire her intense determination to stick to the facts, to the observables and dedication to keep plugging away at what citizens used to consider effective action. She is WORTH your time... a good listen in conjunction with Farrell on The Irish Side of the Moon... extremely....

I don't blame you at all if you don't want to endure this playlist, but don't miss the Icke segment, and try to find the courage to listen to Judy Wood. The rest of it is entirely missable... entirely.

.

Sometimes I look and cannot, cannot find, but others:
So do we counsel fatalism, a dark, defeated surrender, a retreat into bitter, curdled quietude? Not a whit. We advocate action, positive action, unstinting action, doing the only thing that human beings can do, ever: Try this, try that, try something else again; discard those approaches that don't work, that wreak havoc, that breed death and cruelty; fight against everything that would draw us down again into our own mud; expect no quarter, no lasting comfort, no true security; offer no last word, no eternal truth, but just keep stumbling, falling, careening, backsliding, crawling toward the broken light.
Chris Floyd has his moments.

So I ran right out and gardened for one of them. I had been irked that the damn roses in barrels were out there entertaining the neighbors, but I couldn't even see a bit of them from any window of my house. So I poked a particularly pleasing dead branch up next to one of the climbing roses that had no means to climb and dumped a lot of compost into its barrel for good measure. I am pleased to announce that now I can see the rose climbing while I'm washing dishes. Another marvel—or sign of the end times—is that the tulips someone planted where it's entirely too dark for them to want ever to bloom have shot up blossoms, all.

They've downgraded the storm from 100% to 80%, but the radar is threatening major cloud-cover again by sunset, which is also moonrise, so I think I'm still doomed to miss this big moon.

how could you have known?

.

Two days ago, I was convinced the Japan quake had already happened and that a tsunami warning was out. I was having my own emergency, and wasn't going to let a tsunami stop me. So I left you with, "Please let me know if the tsunami's coming to get me or Norway nukes Madagascar or the entire government suddenly drops from space rays... or whatever....." I had meant for you to understand by this that I wasn't going to worry about the tsunami... or anything else. Except, the 8.9 quake and resulting tsunami warnings didn't happen until late last night.

When I saw it last night I thought al Jazeera and YouTube were taking things seriously awfully late in the game. I clicked on the link for the live coverage from AJ and still it didn't register that it had just happened. I thought they were covering the aftermath and went to check the blather about tsunamis and any warnings at NOAA, and there didn't seem to be any where I thought they should be, confirming somehow that whatever they were on about was just the horrific aftermath of a two-day-old monster quake.

Maybe I've caught up on my sleep now because I seem to grok that this all took place last night, and NOT two nights ago, except, well, except now I'm vexed that I had thought it had already happened. There wasn't anything precognitive about it. It was over, except possibly for a tsunami hitting here, two days before it happened. Do you think that extreme nerve pain drives one into one's true mind? Or is this just more of my weirdness manifesting? I mean, I can't even get too het up about this because this sort of thing has happened to me often in my life, but I wasn't being callous about it! I was just in such bad shape I couldn't deal with it.

My tooth still hurts. It's much better, but it still hurts enough to gripe about.

.

Whenever it happened, Japan got NAILED.

Sounds as though Crescent City, about fifteen miles south of me has been damaged by some swells. Calls were not coming through. My mom said in an email the operator told her all circuits were busy. I haven't heard any blasts of the tsunami warning system going off, but BB2 says bigger waves/swells are on their way. I'll just lash myself to a tree and hope for the best.

.

See, this is what I thought was going to be happening the day I had to go down to Crescent City to see the dentist, but it happened this morning and I was oblivious.
Eight-foot waves from the Japan tsunami destroyed much of Crescent City harbor, battered boats, closed the 101 Freeway and left one person missing.

KDRV-TV reported that four people were washed out to sea Friday. Three were hurt and one is feared dead.

Local residents reported that about three dozen boats were "crushed" in the harbor and that surging waters significantly damaged or destroyed most of the docks. Ocean water surging up Elk Creek north of the harbor reportedly lapped up to front doors of the community's cultural center.

The Associated Press reported that the Coast Guard was searching for a man swept out to sea while taking pictures of the tsunami.

Officials were warning residents to expect higher surges throughout the day, one resident said by telephone. Officials from the Sheriff's Department and the city could not be reached. Crescent City, near the Oregon border, was the scene of a devastating tsunami in 1964 which killed 11 people and destroyed 289 homes and businesses.
Maybe it pushed the rain out. It's supposed to be pouring right now, but the sky is blue.

.

The dead clown down at the mouth of the Klamath was almost certainly a tourist. Two of his buddies made it back to safety, which means they were way the heck out on the rocks that jut up out of the surf, and people with ANY experience of the ocean don't ever do that, EVEN with no tsunami warnings. Even on calm days, a big one can come up at any moment and smack you into your next life before you know what hit you.

Seems videos of the phenomenon are hitting YouTube now.

.

Slate is being pretty snarky about it. Guy's probably dying of envy over all the natural beauty here... OR one of those twits who regularly endures twisters ripping up his neighborhood and thunderstorms making his TV blow up, talking about how one has to be crazy to live in California....

.

Something's afoot, that's all I know. It feels unutterably weird around here just now. I'm missing most of my marbles, and my cogs have slipped. Nothing feels right.

.

And, just north of me is Brookings, Oregon. They're not any better off than they are down in Crescent City. So. I think if I need to get out of here, I can take the back road that cuts over to 199. That bumps into Interstate 5 and I don't think there's any snow on the pass right now....

.

Still, nothing like the Boxing Day tsunami, where people were caught by surprise. Scary, scary, scary to watch how slow-to-stopped people's reaction times were, even at that. I remember hearing that those who had the sense to immediately run lived, but those who needed time to put it together before they started running didn't make it.

.

For all my friends interested in my doctoral work, here's Farrell talking manmade quake....

.

I guess THIS would be the definitive footage of the ocean at Crescent City today.

i'm gonna zen my way through this

.

I will not make a scene. Nor will I kill anyone. I'm just going to the clinic and waiting for the doors to open. If they will not help me immediately, I will quietly proceed to get some fresh and functioning dilaudid from the impostors with prescription pads next door. I will then drive down to my dentist in Mendo World and he will fix me up.

The big news of the morning is that—through the miracle of pain killers—I have at last been able to identify THE offending tooth. It's the very last one on the bottom on the right side of my mouth. I've been just sure it was the second to last, and that one may be suffering too, but THE bad one is the last one. I can tell by pressing on it. None of the others hurt when pressing on them. Except I can't get them all to stop hurting until I have enough dilaudid in me to shut them up.

Zen. I'm going to be Zen. No one will die. No one will be knocked on their ass. This will just be handled. Or everything in Northern California is coming to a grinding halt.

.

NOON: Nobody died. I was quietly emphatic and a cancellation came in just in time to give me the appointment. We are nuking me with amoxicillin and ibuprofen and the remainder of my aged dilaudid, to be refilled if I'm still hurting too badly. Back bottom tooth needs a root canal and crown, which I can get for a mere $600 since I'm so poor. Or, they can pull it. I'm getting in bed for a nice nap now. If the pain will just ebb enough. OMG, this shit just does NOT ebb once it's really made up its mind. I was SO good. None of that drama queen moaning and thumping, and people were alarmed anyway. I guess I'm in that zone where you have to be blind not to tell something's wrong... because people have been VERY solicitous toward me all morning. Total strangers.

Please let me know if the tsunami's coming to get me or Norway nukes Madagascar or the entire government suddenly drops from space rays... or whatever.....

.

SIX: Well, that was fraught with difficulty! Good thing I didn't wait any longer to go have it seen to. Even taking way more ibuprofen and the dilaudid, the pain had gotten so it was still pretty bad anyway. It took me some hours to do anything more than lie there in misery awaiting naptude and I had to get up a couple times to take more pills. Now my ear and throat and side of my tongue hurt along with my teeth and gums, but it isn't as despicable.

I dreamed a lotta stuff, and most of it's long gone, but my mother was in there somewhere, and that means I was dreaming of relative reality instead of absolute reality. I'd been this lump of Zenned-out pain sculpture in the waiting rotunda. The building that houses County medical and dental and old people and lort knows what else is a really large barn-shaped building with labyrinthine halls and cubbyholes for labs and nurses stations and examination rooms and whatnot. They'd have to fit me with some sort of GPS device if I worked there. One begins to feel terror if one's escort pops out of one's field of vision. But all the waiting around goes on in one wide stretch down the middle length of the building and the roof is a long way up from there. It makes you feel as though you've come to be seen by elephants. They'd turned on a television to entertain a very young Hispanic boy whose brother was in with the elephants.

The shrill sound effects of cartoons were skewering my neurons through my right ear. I had a stately O magazine on my lap and I slowly and silently went through its pages one-by-one until such time as I would be shown what was the professional choice for me or the elephants called me in. I never got to discern my true destiny. I was still back in the ads for diamond-encrusted things and not-your-daughter's-jeans. I'd gone off to find some breakfast that didn't demand chewing while I filled out a stack of forms, dotted T's and crossed I's and had to get up to go beg a couple crusty old dairymen to tell me the date. They'd both whipped out their cell phones to find out, but I was the only one with cheaters to read it. It's the 9th. I'd known that hours earlier, but had stopped in the intervening debacle and didn't want to punt because last week I arrived at my hair appointment a full twenty-four hours early. So I'd come back and handed in my assignment before settling down to the meditation in the fires of hell bit. I thought I had another hour to endure, but I guess there must have been another cancellation because, mercifully, except if you count my need to have Oprah point out where I've gone wrong with my life, they got me in pretty quickly.

I remember taking one of those personality tests by which jackasses set so much store, and it advised I should be a counselor. Oprah probably would have done the same. So I guess my dreaming was trying to tie up that loose thread. I was counseling one woman who had taken up grieving widow duties over another woman's dead husband. I was telling her it wasn't a good idea to let the actual widow dump her grieving on a surrogate like this. She was upset by this, as though the real widow had maybe put one over on her, not, maybe, as gracefully conceding the position out of the kind of generosity and sublimity of spirit my patient had been supposing. Leave it to me. I'll wreck everything.

Somebody get me started analyzing this dream.

Anyway, I'm going to try gently going about my stupid little house without whipping up any more PAIN now, and see if I can't go back to sleep by around eight or so. I mean, I only slept for a couple forty-minute sprints last night and I've been in too much pain for fatigue to really register. I just know I must be tired back there, and that holding still while nuking with antibiotics is the best way to insure they actually work. So I'm just going to keep on funning my way out of this Zenhouse hall of mirrors, and will pop back in if this doesn't go according to the sensible plan I can just barely make out that I've plotted for myself here.

SEVEN: It occurs to me I should point out that Del Norte County's medical and dental, etc, clinics are not like those you find in most counties. In most counties, those are just for poor people and are relatively squalid places, even when it's just the rumpled throngs of abject persons making it appear that way. Here, it's close to two hours in any direction to get to something more approximating a medical professional. We do have some dentists, and about four private practice doctors, but their waiting lists are so long you'd die of gangrene from waiting to get your indigestion seen to. So everybody but a mystical few goes to the County clinic. It's really very chic, which is unexpected in one of the last bastions of true redneckdom in all California. Exotic fresh flower arrangements are always on the redwood block coffee tables and the chairs are not hard plastic. They are remotely comfortable and there are a lot of them and usually very few people waiting. The hospital is pretty much the same thing. Chic. The Urgent Care Clinic blows chunks and I don't know about the mental health clinic. It's back in some trees with mysterious signage at the road.

The problem isn't the facilities. It's the staffing. Homeless people plucked off the street and dressed in scrubs to look authentic. They only look authentic. They have computer terminals that display all lab tests optimal for persons of the age and general description of each patient and they let you vent about your complaint for a moment and order the tests on their screen for you. They never match the complaint even remotely. This is of no moment. You can bring it up all you want and they have a designated extra-concern person to not help you then. Very civilized. Never gets out of hand. In fact, you have signed something that certifies you know you will be 86'd for life if you get out of hand.

So I guess I am lucky I had something as straightforward as an infected tooth. My dentist looks like a church lady in scrubs. She didn't even have to scrutinize my x-rays because a computer puts black bugs on them at the spots that show infection. No room to maneuver there. I wonder if they have a robot that does the root canals? I wonder if I will end up like my real estate agent, getting them all yanked in favor of false teeth, it being so many thousands of dollars cheaper than trying to keep them. Old lady waiting at the pharmacy next to me said she just had two yanked. I'm, like, pretty interested in chewing and have already paid millions to dentists to keep my mouth perfectly pristine over the course of my life. I don't think it's right to be telling me these things now.

TEN-THIRTY: Go postal for me, please. I'm too sick.
The Wisconsin Senate succeeded in voting Wednesday to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers, after Republicans outmaneuvered the chamber's missing Democrats and approved an explosive proposal that has rocked the state and unions nationwide.

"You are cowards!" spectators in the Senate gallery screamed as lawmakers voted. Within hours, a crowd of a few hundred protesters inside the Capitol had grown to an estimated 7,000, more than had been in the building at any point during weeks of protests.
Monster storm barreling down on me. The surf sounds like cannon fire. I'm too uncomfortable to sleep, to stay up, to think, and so until I'm not dying of this anymore, you gotta handle dat stuff please.

I have taken all kine NSAIDS and dug around, which weirdly doesn't hurt at all, but bleeds, and swooshed with hydrogen peroxide and swooshed with warm salt water and hung myself and jumped out the window and jumped into the raging sea... all to no avail.

Then I remembered the Dilaudid left from my surgery... maybe too soon after resorting to a chill pill... and so... the pain is gone. But I might not keep breathing through the night... so says PubMed, anyway, and they're wusses.

C'est la vie, type of thing. I knew a woman who killed herself accidentally while trying to get her pain down well enough to sleep. Her ticker wasn't strong enough for the pain meds. I don't think I'm following her example, but, well, I think I've isolated the offending tooth. Even though a bunch of other ones and my cheek and tongue are all chiming in that they are the problem—that redundancy of nerves I have in there, of course—so, even after having the distinct impression that I'd fixed the problem yesterday and this was almost all better, suddenly, as everything was closing, this came back on like a ten alarm fire and I have been in way worse pain than even the awful pain yesterday. So if I've killed myself, it will probably be more merciful than the County dental clinic, where I will be found if still breathing in the morning. I can tell you that at this moment I feel darn peaceful and there's only a distant ache in my right cheek right now.

If only we had video of me earlier this evening. You would be much relieved I eventually remembered the Dilaudid pills. You will even believe it the best possible solution if I screwed up and didn't wake up. Phil, bless his heart, appears to have left me some mystical advice on pain management in yogis. I'm unsure because I was rendered unable to read at the time it came in, and am shortly to be too woozy to read, but maybe I can study it for the future after someone's bashed this sucker with a hammer or whatever they do around here to sobbing freaks with their hair standing on end.

If this hasn't made any sense, it's the drugs, man. Most of them don't work on me right. Can't take most pain meds because they make me wired and don't touch the pain, but things with some vestigial molecules of actual opiates work fine, thank heaven. Oh, shit, where's that other Bukowski quote?

Misogynist old fuck had some great points on just about everything except women.
We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.
