i'm being pestered into watching this

I saw a trailer and it's Mother Superior, Meryl Streep playing extremely severe and casting doubt upon Father Philip Seymour Hoffman's morals. Not interesting. But I opened my yap and said Doubt will doubtless turn out that the priest has been good all along and it's Mother Superior whose dank obsessions are the problem.

There is a local girl who is outright morbidly obese and as outright morbidly snide, at the same time as professing to have a soft spot for liberal media... sotto voce, of course, lest her church peers overhear. She enjoys yammering about certain movies till I think I will drop from boredom and the urge to stake her to the floor and scream at her that she is too young and stupid to die like this. She has pestered me to the point where I feel it's better to have seen it so I can tell her how it went and shut her up.

Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe it's just that her circle won't let her see papist swill and she really wants to know about it. I can tell there's a mind under all that blubber and behind that miraculous sneer of hers. It's a miracle because, really, people that fat cannot sneer, cannot make facial expressions at all.

And don't tell me I'm being unkind. I want her to live.

[Wasn't far from wrong about the movie, either.]

  3. This guy is definitely one of my favorite actors. If you remember, he was in that porn movie with Mark Wahlberg and Burt Reynolds, one of his first movies.
