...Al Gore ran as an Independent, and took first runner-up in the Democratic primary as his running mate? I betcha 95% of the registered Democrats would vote for him over anyone the party picks, and especially if he nabbed, say, Obama. No psychotic political consultants. Gotta keep him loose.
