Okay. I'm being too snotty about Al Gore. It's entirely possible -- maybe even probable -- that Hillary stole her bit about "conversation" from him, rather than that he is continually choosing that word to resonate with her campaign. In this hour we get a little better look at Gore's position on the funding vote, his preference for explaining the wrongness of the pressures being brought to bear that make politicians, public servants and journalists act against their better instincts... cow them. I still worry that he's too inured to compromise to be the president I see we need so badly now, but there just is no question whatsoever that he is head and shoulders above any of the candidates already running... or even out of the pool of people we could imagine electing, whether they're running or not.
