Just watching a video of Jonathan Turley talking to Keith Olbermann about this, and it is striking how confident he is that habeas corpus will be restored now. I tend to think the same way, but I really do have to watch my urge for heroes and heroism. It has become so desperate in recent years that it tries to attach itself in the silliest places. And, unlike many others, I too put the birth and death dates for habeas just like in this picture. Just because the 109th Congress killed it here last year, doesn't mean it isn't alive elsewhere. And maybe it has only been sleeping. Or maybe it will be our happy Frankenstein of the 110th....
