i'll be go to heck

Upon reflection, it occurs to me that, peripherally, I've noticed Pat Buchanan speaking sensibly in recent weeks, and today in my inbox came clear evidence that he intends to be, publicly, sensible. Check it out. I'm disregarding his misconceptions about 9/11 on the basis that no one seems to be willing, or able, to hold their head up in our society if they do not deny the laws of physics this emphatically. I'm disregarding that he seems to have bought-in to some loud and stubborn mistranslations currently popular, because they are so popular and we don't have time to work that out right now.

I do hereby proclaim Pat Buchanan as my fellow citizen, and welcome.

[Update: And, apparently, some twelve hours after Buchanan came out with his piece, someone else decided to run with this point! Well, will wonders never cease....]
