a good thing

I wonder if we've been half as mind-fucked about Putin as we have about Ahmadinejad. It does occur to me, over and over, that even if they were as evil as they are portrayed, they still are better for us than our current administration. They are better for the world than this administration... and that is something never off my mind anymore. Earth needs room made for very big revolutions in technology immediately and these are impossible while everyone on the planet is rapt in the Risk game against the psychopaths in the White House.

We get stuff done, and we murderate and torture vastly fewer people, in cold wars.

[Heh, driftglass is calling it "Meet the New War, Same as the Cold War" and I'm going, "That's great!"]
