wondering about the scene in pakistan?

It appears that Barnett Rubin of NYU is a very frequent guest on Charlie Rose. People must want to hear what he has to say. Josh Marshall seems to be trying to educate himself, and us, on what the heck is up with Pakistan. Here's a combined twenty-ish minutes of Professor Rubin holding forth, and, except that he insists on pronouncing it pock-iss-tahn, which really creeps me out when Americans do it, he begins to put the broad stokes in for the desperately confused:
