I think I'm just gonna yammer on this post....

11:50am -- Forever I'd been hollering about this stuff being illegal or something and everyone just pfeh-ed and huh-ed me down. I've only been online a little over two years, and my bellowing about the illegality had long since turned into bellowing about fascism.... Now they come up with my original point. So it really is not merely bad faith. Are you going to keep pfeh-ing and huh-ing even still?
Someday I will have shed enough conditioning to cease falling for my lifelong weirdness as the explanation for this dissonance. I am so used to nobody listening to me that there is still a deluded little default in there preventing my sight from turning into effectiveness.

1:45pm -- Correction: School Contraceptives Story
4 hours ago
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — In an Oct. 17 story about the school board approving birth control pills for female students at a Portland middle school, The Associated Press missstated the vote. It was 7-2, not 5-2. The story also erred on the year when condoms were made first made available to students at King Middle School. It was 2000, not 2002. The surname of the school board chairman was misspelled. His name is Peter Coyne, not Coynie.
Mooks and midriffs between eleven and thirteen in Portland, Maine are covered now... which, much as it horrifies me, is a good thing... gives them the outside chance not to have to pay too hard for their mistakes until they've entered puberty for real.... I just remind myself over and over and over that people were getting married at that age for most of human history. The fact that our kids are in no wise ready for it for well over three times that long, if ever, is not the fault of human biology. It's turning into a mantra.
And, no, it's still not okay for geezers to marry women ridiculously younger, let alone eleven... so don't even start with that.

2:30pm -- Am I only supposing you're not a good enough German to have missed this op-ed?

4:00pm -- Updating re Bastert's resignation, and starting to add ideas for the mooks and midriffs under the message from Davis directly below....

4:40pm -- Back in a blaze of glory.... The Beeb seems to be calling her "Mr" fairly unabashedly, too.
I especially love this part:
Ms Bhutto wants to contest parliamentary elections due to be held in January and she had been negotiating with President Pervez Musharraf over a possible power-sharing agreement.
Mr Musharraf said the attack was a "conspiracy against democracy".
Class? Can anybody tell me what's wrong with this picture?

6:15pm -- Never let it be said that I ignore celebrity news entirely. Hollywood is aghast, but I think she looks pretty... and pregnant. This, I know, is entirely inconsistent with my general disdain for modern libidinosity, but, and maybe I'm just hanging over the edge of my cliff again and needing to think this, she seems to have manged to make her nudity not look indecent here.

The next day: Pfeh.... The electricity blinked out so many times last night, I gave up on the rest of the stuff I had to say. It was causing troubles with my silly little system for teaching myself to blurt cogently too. So you may have suffered from my inability to fix the duds fast enough too. Sorry. You read a maniac's blog; you takes you [sic] chances....
