this bit of information is salient and it's being sat on

It seemed only USA Today felt like mentioning it, and I was vexed. Finally, my digging produced this bit, and so I think it is official. A brigadier general of the Qods Brigade of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, that supposedly terrorist force, managed to help get the ceasefire in Basra. It really must be mortifying Washington, but, sigh, must this make journalists turn to their fascist enablers mode even now? Are they still afraid to ruffle their defense contractor ownership by pointing out the obvious? That we have no control. The surge isn't working. And Iran isn't so much terrorist as it is cramping our style.

[Oh, pfeh, this shit makes me dizzy. Apparently, while I was off digging, others were waking up to this as well and now, just as I turn from this post back to the rest of the world, we have breaking, this piece to cap it. Let's see if the rest of the news wires want to catch up with this even yet....]

[Guess I don't have to worry anymore about nobody hearing of it!]
