The news continues to be grim, and there's plenty of redwood forest on fire still. Pictures are starting to come out of some of the already burned forest and they are looking to me like they were indeed canopy and surface fires. I'm going to start emailing and calling some of the gajillion foresters I know down in Mendo World and Santa Cruz... see if I can't get some encouraging information... or... bad enough information that I can just move to the North Pole and die feeding myself to the starving polar bears who have yet managed not to drown.
