russia and georgia resume fighting

Sheesh. Now it's going to be even harder to dig down to something more closely resembling the truth.

My original feeling was that it would be better all the way around if Russia just occupied all of Georgia... that it would do the most to ward off WWIII... let the fuckers go back to their criminally lucrative but far less lethal Cold War instead. But then it seemed the Russians would settle for merely backing the fascists off their friends in the breakaway regions of Georgia... which I didn't think was so smart, except that it might help the truth shine through, cool the western drive to vilify them further, but that clearly didn't work at all. Our politicians and our media went forward with the smearing.

So, it seems to me, we are left with a couple possibilities: [1] Russia has seen that we will not stop vilifying them and doing things to threaten their security, and is now going about making it impossible for us to use Georgia in this endeavor; [2] Medvedev's halt to hostilities was ignored by his military, maybe because it was against Putin's wishes. I doubt the latter because it is too clumsy... uncharacteristic of either Medvedev or Putin.

[Of course, it's entirely possible Georgia did with this ceasefire precisely what they did with the last; to wit: observe it for a few hours and then escalate.... I'm assuming they weren't that stupid, but it could well be that we want them to be that stupid, so we can further discredit Russia and maybe even find an excuse to get our troops in Georgia... threaten Iran from the southwest and the northwest....]

[Or even just to get in there and station our people to protect the fucking oil pipeline.]

Oh, no, wait! READ THIS!

That would account for it!
