From Ossetia itself....

Breaking on the Beeb: Georgia 'pulls out of S Ossetia'
The current fighting began three days ago when Georgian forces launched a surprise attack to regain control of South Ossetia, which has had de facto independence since the end of a civil war in 1992.

The move followed days of exchanges of heavy fire with the Russian-backed separatists. In response to the Georgian crackdown, Moscow sent armoured units across the border frontier.

Seems the Brits aren't as into using this to propagandize the living snot out of their citizens, or the world.... And ain't it odd that South Ossetia and Abkhazia both want to be Russian, not Georgian.... Hmmmm....

Al Jazeera confirms....

Sounds to me like Georgia's saying they're just falling back to get organized, when really they're falling back because they don't have any choice, and that Russia's readying to form a naval blockade, an act of war, pending Georgia deciding whether it really wants this to get any worse.... What a bunch of hotheads.
