this is serious

[Update: Originally linked was a very short piece that was mostly direct quotes of Lavrov. I don't know what the hell happened to it. This was as close as I could find... and... well... this isn't good enough.
Russia warns West against Georgia support

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia is warning the West against supporting Georgia's leadership and is calling for an arms embargo against the nation until a different government is in place.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's remarks are likely to anger the West and enrage Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

Lavrov spoke Monday as the European Union prepared for a summit to discuss the Georgia crisis and relations with Russia.

The Russian foreign minister made it clear Moscow wants Saakashvili out of power in Georgia. He said an arms embargo should be imposed n Georgia until a new government is in place.

Lavrov said it would be a "mistake of historic proportions" for the U.S. and its allies to continue to back what he called the "Saakashvili regime."

There are a whole bunch of wordier pieces running under the same title as the original now, and I don't know about you, but I'd rather just have the straight quotes and data so I can see for myself. The Ministry of Truth stuff has gotten completely out of hand. As has everything else.]

It appears the Russians intend to make the neocons stop fucking with them in the Caucasus... which would involve our media starting to tell the truth. Novel concept, I know, but it is the right thing to do. I'm only worried that Medvedev and Putin may not have an accurate gauge of how insane those guys are... no... no... they are flat out doing the right thing.

How many times have I had to bear the dickless bluster of liberals bemoaning the perfidies of neocons, saying over and over and over till you want to box their ears, "They're just like schoolyard bullies. Bloody their noses and they will cave right in." My stock response is, "Well, bloody their fucking noses then!" But then, no, no, they can't do that because they're "nonviolent". That was a figure of speech.

I'm sorry if you don't grok that I'm not waving the Russian flag.

I'm waving the cosmic flag.

We are that wrong for living things, and SOMETHING has to set us straight.

So, when you're done ginning up that phony birth certificate, maybe you could just go take a long walk off a short pier in the Bermuda Triangle... please?

Oh, oh, wait a sec, I almost forgot this from earlier:
Rice has got to act as though they are beneath contempt, unworthy of her attention, or it ruins the whole set-up... well, along with it threatening to blow her cover. It will never do to put yourself in a situation where your brains are required where you usually use your position. I'm guessing this is what Albright was on about earlier with her disingenuous puffery. Heavy sigh. I think, though, that she at least would have the moxie to go in and use her brains, even with this completely untenable position.

I keep seeing Gates' and Lieberman's and McCain's terrified expressions in the audience at that Putin speech. They were rapt and they were almost visibly quaking. I swear, they looked like Ferengi at the feet of a godlike entity from the Q Continuum.
