you already know about my tree thing

Until they clocked me three years ago with major spine surgery, I was out planting trees by the thousands every winter. That was the only question I had for my surgeon. Will I be able to go back to planting trees? He assured me I would. And... now that a few of the unforeseen, and maybe unforeseeable, sequela are being dealt with effectively, there is a real possibility I could go back to it... or, even oversee a crew on industrial timberlands. They do a really shitty job of replanting, and I had the highest percentage survival rate of all the people working on nonindustrial timberlands. So that is something vitally important I might be able to further substantially in the rest of my life... wouldn't hurt with the weight gain thing either!

Sometimes I think I should stop bucking the plutocrats' obsession with solving the climate crisis by massive population reduction policies, and just concentrate on restoring the planet's resilience. I mean, I had been screaming about over-population for decades, and nobody seems to be exhibiting the kind of altruism it takes to accomplish that painlessly... and we'll definitely be extinct before that bit of evolution occurs. So. Damn. I'm going to think about this.
