...that just because some glaciers grow in one area of the planet, does NOT mean that the climate crisis is bogus. Far more indicative of the trouble we are in is the amount of shrinkage in polar ice. You can see the North Pole's fluctuations over the past nearly thirty years in this nifty little slide show of satellite images, remembering that the bluer the ice the thinner it is.

The model most climate scientists are describing is a general warming, with weird weather in spots. Places that never get cold will get cold. Places that never get snow will get snow. Places that never were hot will get hot... etc. Right on up to and including uneven growth and shrinkage of glaciers relative to each other on a planetary scale. But overall, in the cumulative measurement, the planet is getting warmer every year. It changes the chemistry of the ocean and the atmosphere. There will be mass extinctions. All this sets conditions that it will usher in a new ice age, one many say we were due for anyway, but constitutes a mass mass-extinction event in itself.

I keep noticing the tax-phobic conspiracy nuts gloating about the Alaskan Glaciers and insisting Gore is trying to be point man for a group of world dominators taxing their way into world domination. Our stupidity dominates the world, and evidently no one is going to be able to challenge it successfully....
