Despite Cleese's reserve on the subject of Pig Lips, I hold it against McCain. Hold her idiocy and mechanical vitriol, her inability to tell the truth, assuming she even knows it to tell, against him. He's never not been a liar, and now he has added witlessly egomaniacal old lecher on top of his witlessly egomaniacal young lecher status... a much less convincing version of Bill Clinton, and John Edwards....

Last night I was reading that McCain was being very candid about being six points behind in the polls. Well! I guess he would be, when he's more like eleven. Same gig as cordoning off three quarters of an auditorium so it looks as though a crowd came. Same thing as "the fundamentals of our economy are strong". What a circus:
Palin landed in West Virginia over the weekend before traveling to campaign in Ohio.

Introducing McCain to the Virginia crowd, Palin sought to temper the sometimes volatile outbursts from supporters against Obama that marked the ticket's rallies last week.

The Alaska governor never mentioned the Illinois senator by name or his connections to 1960s-era radical Bill Ayers, a reference she made repeatedly last week that incited the crowds.

When supporters started chanting "No-Bama, No-Bama," Palin jumped in to say voter anger was driven by economic woes.

"There's anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists. Anger about the greed on Wall Street. Anger about the arrogance of the Washington elite," she said.

Speakers preceding McCain included Representatives Thelma Drake and Randy Forbes, and Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell. Country music singer Hank Williams, Jr. also performed, opening with "All My Rowdy Friends."

McCain touched on his ties to the region, noting that Norfolk was his first duty station in the Navy.

The Virginia Beach Fire Marshal's office estimated the size of the crowd to be 12,000. A McCain campaign spokeswoman claimed the crowd size was 25,000, but the Convention Center's capacity is only 16,000.

The plutocrats are obviously on a massive electoral fraud campaign again, in the hope of managing to pull off four more years of controlling dimwits into letting them keep looting the planet, sinking further into fascism with each passing hour. Obama's ten or eleven point lead is no insurance against it. Electing Obama is no insurance against it. It's just the only hope we have of pulling it out of the fire just a little.

I repeat, if you vote for someone else in protest of this heinous state of affairs, you are playing fast and loose with your fellows on this planet. The hungry, the homeless, the dying will get absolutely no relief if you do that. EVEN if you feel you're in a safe state to do it, you will still be an asshole for succumbing to your self regard over the welfare of the miserable, over even just the slim chance of alleviating a drop of it.
