Okay. The reason you have been getting a bajillion email notifications about comments on HaloScan blogs is because you were giving them your email. They suddenly decided that providing this bit of information amounted to the desire to be subscribed to the comments on any given thread. I had three full grown cows on them about this and so they have decided to stop that and give you a box to indicate if you want notification of further action on a thread.

I haven't seen anyone's email address go public, but Hilly says it happened to her comments last night and this morning. I think whatever that was has been fixed.

I still have not gotten word about whether or not URLs pasted into a comments will be automatically converted to hyperlinks again or not, and that does not seem to be working.

The new smileys are of inferior quality and insufficient range... especially given our extreme aggravation here.

This new gig is not reading HaloScan cookies either. If you have an account with them, it reads your screen name and the rest of the fields are blank, needing to be filled in every single time you visit a thread and that is just so irritating I could scream.

My admin page is a damn wreck.

This is but ONE example of the perfidies we here at C.O.N.T.R.O.L. work to save you from, but those world domination freak K.A.O.S. agents just never die.

This whole blistering migraine is causing me to begin rethinking everything here. I'm trying manfully not to go postal and turn off comments, but it's sapping all my strength. This "social networking" craze is getting on my nerves, and these bozos seem to think we'll be thrilled to turn our blogs into portals of a vast social network. I don't think so.

I don't think so at all.
