This is confusing to me because I don't know how someone who continually calls Israel's innocent victims "human shields" to excuse murdering them -- particularly when Israeli soldiers use Palestinian kids as human shields -- can actually be for the pullback to pre-1967 borders. Why wouldn't she stick to telling her countrymen that slaughtering Palestinians might not ever be an issue for them again if they simply do the right thing now, decades late but better than never? Not politically feasible? Hmmm?
People keep insisting to me that most Israelis want peace with Palestine, and if this is so, it would seem to be politic for Livni to state she favors the withdrawal to pre-1967 borders... something akin to John McCain's crap about bringing change. I mean, really, how strong can her support for the two-state solution be?
Last week she's warning Obama he better not flag in his support for Israel, and this week she's associating herself with his support for Israeli withdrawal to pre-1967 borders. Maybe the polls indicated she better change her tune.
Netanyahu will absolutely worsen things, no question. Livni only probably will worsen things. Looks as though Israel voters have choices as bad as ours in their elections.
AND THIS SURE AS HELL DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL ANY BETTER.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother listening to a word out of any politician's mouth.
