Notwithstanding his Wikipedia page already being scrubbed fresh and artfully worded, I'm going to have to disagree sharply with:
During his tenure as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, Blair went against the wishes of the State Department during the 1999 East Timorese crisis.
because he would not be getting this appointment if he had actually gone against the Clinton Administration's wishes.
I recognize that 44 has to feel desperate that he must hit the ground at a dead run on 20 January, and appointing Clinton people very seriously has to be a monster temptation in this world being overrun by snapping alligators everywhere, but one would have hoped he'd have had people working on sterling, competent, fresh faces for these posts long before election day. It's almost as though he is consciously choosing to keep the world suffering our policies and simply calling it "change". That's been done before. That never stops being done. That's specifically what he was elected to stop.
