This is a picture of a small Iraqi boy holding up a picture of his hero, Muntazer al-Zaidi. The shoe-throwing hero of Iraq, is being given his parades. People are in the streets demanding his release, half the Iraqi Parliament is openly proud of him. I am proud of him. He makes me want to live.

Everyone in the world wants him released. I think he should get, if not the Nobel Peace Prize, at least a Pulitzer for the perfection of expression so rare in journalism these days.
