Another question that begs an answer is: Who is in charge of Thailand now?

The leader of the country is not even in the capital, but is instead operating from Chiangmai.

According to a Bangkok-based journalist, the anti-government protesters held a meeting with the police over the weekend and they even agreed to have joint patrols. Obviously no authority wants to take any action against the protesters.

On paper, Somchai is the prime minister but he does not seem to be calling the shots.
