[click image]I was saying last night that she looked as though she'd been held hostage somewhere damp for a week. That outfit was appalling in form, texture and color. This was a good angle for her hair, but it was limp too.
Biden also looked as though he'd been held under water too long... lethargic.
As for Obama, Mr. Spring in His Step, it was a marvelous performance of a much more presidential-sounding campaign speech. Mostly thin air underlying every word... as usual. I think it was a great job of putting on a good face for the rest of the world, particularly those we are begging to buy more Treasuries, but... after my initial scare that he might actually have been talking about found trillions, a real solvency we didn't know we had, and then having to go back and listen carefully to the whole damn thing over again, pfeh.
Barnswoggle. Tell me why Obama thinks giving an extra billion to Jewish social services, on top of whatever aid has gone to their state and local social services, is a "recovery" plan. Recovering his standing with the Lobby, maybe.
Oh, but at least he can deliver a speech. So refreshing after that bumbling nitwit of the last eight years. And, yes, things can't help but be a lot better because we got Obama instead of McCain, but, er, so way not good enough.
The one thing that sounded pretty clear, and believable, to me, is that he plans to give Afghanistan back to whatever Taliban promise not to interfere while he goes and bombs the living snot out of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan, which he calls "safe haven for terrorists". Hang how many centuries back this leaves the women of Afghanistan; hang the desperate straits of most Afghani families, especially the urban ones, the landless ones who can't grow poppy; hang the tyrannies and oppression to be wrought on them: Just juice the Pashtun warriors and their wives and children so hard the Hindu Kush falls down around their ears.
