He'd have a thousand better ways to accomplish what he's been accused of trying to accomplish, and at least one major reason not to be killing reporters, let alone Politkovskaya. And there are too many fabulously wealthy amoral pigs with huge reasons to want it to look as though Putin is killing reporters and them... not to mention that these reporters may well have information on them they don't want ending up in the open.
It makes me crazy how humans let what they want to think, what it serves them somehow to think, lead us into this close to post-apocalyptic world. Everybody gripes about the dumb bunnies, the sheeple, doing this to us, but our intellectuals and clever fuckers are really greasing the garbage chute here.
[RIA Novasti hasn't been circumspect about the details either. I can't imagine our press printing anything as nakedly. No, it would be so laden with propaganda dimwits couldn't pick out the facts... maybe even geniuses couldn't either, since they're so sparse, when they're there at all.]
