changed comment systems, and left my blog kittywompus

... but in addition to losing all the comments, it messed up my template pretty badly. I don't know if they're going to fix that, or just leave me with a migraine.

You may comment at whim now, again, and maybe what you say will stick.

I've updated the commenting policy thing for this turn of events.

16 comments:

  1. Is this comment doohickey working?

Does it like :hi: or  ?

  2. 50% approval rating!

  3. Make that 25%

    It doesn't remember me.

  4. Now that I've commented I'm stuck on this thread until I reload the page.

But then I guess other commenting systems are the same.

That was one place Haloscan excelled.

    30%

  5. Testing... just to say sorry for all the problems. When things work, it's wonderful, when it doesn't it's VERY frustrating! Hope it's A-OK now.

  6. Maybe they fixed something?

  7. I don't feel secure about this. You wouldn't believe the ugly mess I went through... and as you can see, it's still an ugly mess.

    I feel left out!

  10. I think smileys are pau.

I don't think it automatically turns urls into links.

But I think you can still make your own links and use italics and bold.

At least I HOPE so, and maybe now when you leave a comment it will stay left.

You probably don't have the Blogger B because you're not logged in or you didn't pick the right "Comment as:" option...?

I have just gone through the tortures of the damned to get the JS-Kit commenting system off my blog. They took over HaloScan a while back and picked ME to torture with their switch to their own new "social networking" commenting system. Months and months of headaches with my comments because of that. Supremely inelegant transition, and then once it seemed they'd finally gotten the main things ironed out, the ones they were disposed to iron out anyway, the comments box would open up into a blank when people wanted to say something, or it would open up fine and take the comment fine, but then the comment would just disappear. I believe a bunch of people have gone away mad because of this, thinking I was deleting their comments or had banned them.

I'd been putting up with all the hell because I thought it would spare people in the future, but this last bit made me snap, and I then found there was NO way for me to get rid of their comment system. I had to contact them and demand they delete my account, and they said they needed my template to do it. Well they gave me back a template that was minus a crucial custom formatting feature a friend who is no longer with us had done for me years ago... among other atrocities I could fix myself.

So I am very depressed. Stupid to get so depressed over a stupid blog, but just about everything I hate about this world has managed to butt its head into this nightmare, and I feel as though I've been beaten nearly to death.

  13. Here's what I hate about blogger comments: the hyperlinks don't work. See above. You can't win!

  14. Am I missing something, or is blogger in the stone age with their comments, like links don't work? Sheesh!

  15. I find it hard to believe, that blogger doesn't know links don't work, that you have to cut/paste them. That is absolutely incredible.

  16. It is beyond stupid. GOOGLE owns Blogger. They could handle that stuff in a heartbeat, but I guess there aren't enough people using their ads on this blog platform for it to matter to them.
