What gripes me the most is that he is supposed to have more real information available to him than anyone and he's being led down the garden path as cluelessly as poor old General Grant, the guy with a heart the size of the moon and no idea about the sharks. Obama doesn't have that excuse. He has every idea about them. They have been the makers of his entire career.
No, no! DON'T resort to selfish protectionism to rise your people out of destitution and put together an economy that works for everyone, because THAT would take your people out of our pool of dirt cheap labor and prevent us from exploiting your resources, treasuries and citizens. Indeed, FIE on that!

You said it, sister! I just heard that some little Central or South American country imposed tariffs on 672 or some such number of imported commodities. Everyone does it, but in devious ways these days, out of sheer necessity. Even within the EU the individual countries have trade barriers to protect their interests. You certainly can't make Parmesan cheese anywhere but in Parma. Same with Roquefort, except we're talking France now. And France? Talk about Champagne, let's! It's only natural. How can one country whose citizenry can't afford decent lives deny them their fair share of everything by quoting lofty aims like "Globalization" and crap I don't even know what they're trying to say, and I'm a professional translator, for cryin' out loud. Of course the reason I can't undersatnd what they're saying is neither can they. Doesn't matter, as long as we're looking at the magician's flourish with his right hand as he pulls the "volunteer's" upper plate out of his mouth with his left? I'm afraid the bottom line is that he works for the Company, just as all but a very few of them do. What a scary thought! I understand Russia is suffering from a declining population and wants to draw immigrants, or convince emigres to return - I bet they'd be open to immigration from the US. Warning - Russian isn't easy to learn, but it's a very beautiful language ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wish us all survival, BIP
PS - On the upside, I just heard on the BBC that the US is processing the paperwork to extradite Ivan (The Terrible) Demjanjuk to Germany (mind you, Israel long ago tried him and let him go free - unproven identity. The BBC reported that Germany submitted an extradition request early last month, unless I heard it wrong. The timing is suspicious: Had the Germans been rebuffed by duhbaya and his puppeteers? If so, does this not demonstrate that collaborating with Nazis truly runs in that vile family from a cistern for foul toads?
I have the perfect solution! We get married and move to Russia! You give me the raw outline from the Russian and I'll put it into fancy English. We'll be a hit!
