[click image]Whenever accused of anti-Semitism for my expressed desire to stake Alan Dershowitz to the South Pole, I have to inform my accusers of the fact that I am an avid campaigner for the elevation of Barry Scheck to the status of GOD.
His closing in the OJ case was a masterpiece, possibly the masterpiece, in the annals of jurisprudence and, even more than that, his devotion to The Innocence Project is the gift to humankind that just never stops giving.
Someone asked me the other day what would happen if I ever found out Barry Scheck holds similar views on the matter of Israel as Dershowitz does. I bellowed that this would be IMPOSSIBLE, that there could be NO chance of it. My interlocutor assured me there was a chance of it, though he'd never heard anything one way or the other on the matter, and I had to cede that this might in fact be so, however unlikely I find such an odious possibility.
I very un-Zenly feel that I should never be told. I'd die.
Or, probably more likely, I'd learn another transcendentally-hard lesson in my ongoing urges to worship heroes and spend the rest of my life ignoring my grief.
