Goldie is perfect once again. For the low, low price of $760. Scott came up and fetched me away to the Honda Gods' and I whipped out of there and into the fray just like a champ. I decided to go to Original Peet's to get some coffee for the months of paralysis this will all mean, and to wind my way through all the neighborhoods slowly to take in as much wisteria blooming action as possible. Oh. My. God. Just spectacularly gorgeous and all over the place.
It seems the new Most Wanted "terrorist" is "homegrown" and from Berkeley. This is something to be glad about because Berkeley's reputation has gone a little soft in recent years and we can't have that! I sincerely hope he's a left wing "terrorist" as opposed to those nasty right wing "terrorists" and even though I barely read the article, I don't think he's a Muslim. So I'm going to vote for a Tibetan Buddhist Berkeley-born corporation-bombing bodhisattva "terrorist"... because, you know, no matter what, it's going to be kittywompus, and the government is going to be wrong. You just know that.
Anyway, it's been scorching hot the past three days, and it's now hot and overcast.... supposed to drop twenty degrees and start raining by tomorrow. I'm packing up my perfect car and getting on the road after the commute traffic starts to wane. If I'm still a sentient being by the time I get to my parents' place later this evening, I will try to make my rounds and post some more stuff for you.
But you should start meditating on the intensity of monster wisteria action in the midst of all these nut cases tearing everything in the world apart. It will open new neural pathways, air out yer befogglement. It's good for you.
Every summer my garage gets taken over by the neighbors wisteria.
ReplyDeleteThe garage has wooden shingles for siding and the wisteria finds its way in through cracks between the shingles. It can easily grow 2 feet per day and in a weeks time it can take over the garage. I prune it back but it always finds a new path.
Last year it got up into my walnut tree without my noticing until it was all wrapped up in the tree.
My neighbor brought it home as shoots from a park in Monterrey years ago. Until she passed away last fall she worked to try and keep it under control, but now it is taking over her yard as her son is totally neglecting the place.
Very sad - it used to be one of the nicest yards around, now 6 months later the back yard is a total fire hazard and the front yard grass is 4 feet high! All the flowering plants and a new tree planted several years ago are all dead.
Have a safe trip home!
