yes, well

This is about the fourth time I've come across mention of Russian military movements closer to Georgia, after months of hearing rumors of Georgian troop movements closer to the breakaway regions Russia wishes to protect, so this isn't just automatically Russian aggression, nor even automatically support for the overthrow of Saakashvili, though I'm sure they are all over it, happy to be of service. I would be too.

Anyway, I think it's time they stopped dithering and just got control of Georgia. It seems to be the only way to stop the inexorable blather about Georgia becoming a NATO member, even though patently unqualified and not going to become qualified unless the US and Israel take it over. The bottom line for me is: Russia has to have the ability to traverse Georgia in order to help defend Iran. The entire reason for all of the bullshit about Georgia is the threat we wish to pose to Iran. We cannot just do whatever the hell we want while Russia will and can help defend them and that's all there is to it.

So, I will be in favor of Russia taking over, however they want to, and most especially if they can avoid killing a lot of people and get that flipping psychopath out of the equation... and I don't see how Georgia could become a happier place for Georgians if they don't.

No. Really! We are the bad guys in this stuff. Please try to keep that straight. Nowadays, the Russians are the ones trying for peace and we are the aggressors. This may be backassward from how you grew up, but Russia is not the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union may not even have been the Soviet Union, but it's very clear now that the Russians are the ones striving for world peace and prosperity and we are the ones striving for world domination... and not for any of the bogus ideals we keep blathering about, either. That crap is just like early American settlers yapping about civilizing primitives who were actually more civilized than the settlers.
