As a long-time translator of, among other languages, Russian, I find that last paragraph amusing but by no means surprising. Remember that "Russia expert" from Stanford who worked for some miscreants I can't even remember the names of in their dealings with the rest of the world? On her first trip to Russia she kept getting Da (Yes) and Nyet (No) mixed up. Fact is, when dealing with another language you have to know your stuff - there's no winging it. Come to think of it, the same could be said of just about every serious human endeavor, ruling out, of course, being a priest, MSM pundit, economist, politician, etc...
