I told you so.

And make yourself a good strong cup of coffee, with half and half, no sugar, to sip as you read about how your globalizing food is ruining everyone's lives.

  1. Because if its low price we have used pork as a main meat source along with chicken and turkey. Beef, other than hamburger meat, is a small portion of my family's meat consumption. With beef roasts running close to $5/lb and steaks near $10 the pork roasts - loins at less than $3/lb and butt or shoulder at around $1.50/lb and chops at $3/lb it was an easy choice.

Now I am having to re-evaluate my choices. I do know that if I can find the source is Smithfield I will not buy it!

It's time to start hunting out some small meat shops that buy from the local farmers.
