Excuse me, but the problem is that we cannot afford healthcare NOW and slowing the rate of of increased charges doesn't solve BUBKES....

If in your travels you meet the Buddha, throw him through your tv set.

I think they put a nice cup of get the fuck out of the senate hearing with plastic handcuffs, we don't want to hear your Single Payer Health Care spiel, cause we are fascists.

I thought this piece was even scarier.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the baby-killing health industry, we are going to have a McClinic and Wal-Doctor too?
That just gives me the creeps ...
People are desperate for help, and if they can get it for the price of an order of fries, maybe they will fall for it.

Oh what a fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteOur service directors husband stepped on a nail which penetrated his foot deeply.
He went to a local medical clinic for treatment. One of those little 24 hour emergency clinics in a strip mall.
They treated the wound and sent him home.
He returned several days later complaining of pain at the wound site. They assured him every thing was normal.
Several days later, in extreme pain with a red stripe going up his leg he went to the hospital.
Now, 1 1/2 years and five surgeries later he is on permanent disability having lost two toes and about 40% of the bones in his foot. He still has one or two more surgeries to go.
He had a bone infection which the clinic never caught.

I think maybe I was being too subtle. I don't think we can blame the little clinics so much because a great deal of mainstream medicine is this shoddy now. Your friend might have had the same problem if he'd gone to a regular doctor's office or even to the ER for all of it. So, basically, if WalMart wants to get in on this completely bogus standard of care that is everywhere now, why not? The people who flock there, INSISTING they HAVE to, can get the kind of care trillionaire fodder deserve....
