early indications

... would seem to put Ahmadinejad creaming Mousavi... but if it ends up neither has 50% plus one, then another vote will be taken. I don't think we are going to know until really late tonight or tomorrow morning.

I'm sort of stumped here because it's hard to find untainted information on the election, and nearly impossible for me to read the Iranian reportage and commentary, even when in English, because they do not speak directly. Iranian news sources aren't any more likely to be unbiased than in the Western press. So I think I'm going to try to place my trust in al Jazeera on this one... keep an eye on that....

  4. Okay. I almost came unstuck over the anonymity, but then I thought -- surprise! -- and so, for anyone looking at this thread, there are SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES to this anonymity here! Don't go getting any ideas!

I'll go to that link now, and see what I think.

  6. So very confusing! Mousavi being arrested? On his way to see the big kahuna? They think he's already starting a revolution? I'm hating that I can't seem to find someone unbiased and in the know on this stuff!!!!!!

Like a geni with a laptop sitting on a rug hovering over Iran or something. I'm going to turn on al Jazeera and see if there's someone there who can help me make heads or tails of this....

I mean, if the election REALLY was rigged, then, damn the torpedoes and go out and die in a revolution, by all means, but, well, if everyone's just overheated and there have been some errors in judgment that will soon be unwrinkled, well, that should be considered!

Plus, honestly, I find it plausible, as per that blog piece from the young woman at the Mousavi rally who was going to vote for AN, that a whole lot of the poor people in Iran may have felt that way... felt like enjoying the parties and mingling with the privileged, but going to vote for AN.

Shit! I just wish I had a better idea of what is what....
