They direct film masterpieces. The are professionals. They are not whipped baby factories in mud huts. Neda was a living and vibrant woman, whose horrific end in no way fits with what it has been made to fit. And I am still sickened by the Pahlavi pig claiming her as his daughter and by the demonstrations everywhere that used her murdered face because it was fed to them via a text message on those itty screens that have hypnotized half the world.
Maybe we shouldn't call it WWIII. Maybe we should call it Twit War One.
99, completely irrelevant to the post but just a little background on the lady in the picture ( just in case you don't know already and are curios):
ReplyDeleteHer name is Niki Karimi, and her breakthrough role was in Behrooz Afkhami's "Bride". I think you might enjoy seeing her in Mehrjui's "Banoo" which I think is one of the most splendid Iranians films ever made.
She was dating the director Abbas Kiarostami between for a few years more recently, and that's how she got into directing (LOL! My friend is good friends with them both, that's how I know! We don't have tabloids in Iran - at least not in the exact same way!). I think she's on her third or fourth project now.
