I'm on my mother's feeble PC and it's too hot and so I think I might just keep adding stuff willy-nilly to this post... maybe even for a day or two....
I gotta keep a close eye on my Poppa. He's been wandering off and we don't want the whole neighborhood out looking for him again.... :(
Or maybe my mojo will be back up in the morning... one certainly can never tell. For tonight, I'm just grooving on Marianne's righteous band -- she's amazing, still -- before I crash like a mountain of fresh-dug potatoes....
Dear 99,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this; It's good to know you made it to your folks house safe'n'sound.

I swear, that car was the best thing I ever did. 1989 Honda Prelude S... which means carburetors... actually a double motorcycle carburetor action, which heavily rocked for 200,000 miles, but then needed rebuilding, since they don't make them anymore, and, well, they didn't do such a great job on the rebuild.... Shit happens. Her tail pipes are barely holding on and something's up with the carbs, but Goldie Honda drives like the day I bought her. Solid, powerful, takes the turns like I'm in dreamland.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I actually AM in dreamland! SUCH a beautiful drive! I'm too old to enjoy driving for so long, but if you gotta do it, this is the road to be doing it on. Just gorgeous.
Though, I'm concerned that the trees are not looking so healthy in spots. Not a good sign!
I'm mad that Mom didn't tell me Dad was this bad off. Now I'm going to be house sitting for the next two weeks while she's scared every minute that Dad's going to wander off again.
I gotta be in Berkeley Thursday night, when instead I could have just come down and given her a break from constant vigilance... some time to go have lunch with her friends... beauty parlor... that sort of stuff.
Aging is NOT for wimps!
