  1. Chicago 1971

I went to a concert headlined by Ten Years After.
Prior to them were 5 other bands - all but one really, really sucked. The only good one was "If", and they played first.

After about 6 hours of horrendous noise Ten Years After came out.

Immediately the crowd went crazy screaming "Play I'm Going Home" and people started climbing on the stage. The band started to play one of their other songs as the bouncers began literally throwing people off of the stage back into the crowd.

After finishing the first song the band left the stage. The MC worked for about 45 minutes to calm down the crowd and finally the band came back out. They began to play my favorite song of theirs - brand new at the time - "I'd Love To Change the World". Once again people began climbing on the stage and screaming "Play I'm Going Home", drowning out the band.

Halfway through the song Alvin stopped, leaned into the microphone and announced "Alright God damnit - I'm going home!", played the song and left.

I have never hated an audience as much as I despised that bunch that night! Never had another chance to see them either.
