Capitalism, they say, is responsible for many, many innovations and life-enhancing things. Which may seem to be true, but the fact is that humans are responsible for them... just as we are responsible for all the regressive and cruel and stupid and dangerous and lethal things. Other than the fact that people are hungry, what possible benefit to humanity can making cotton edible be? WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH EDIBLE THINGS RIGHT NOW. This is just making excuses for getting a patent on something to sell desperate rubes.
