Bully, the House got a not-good-enough bill out of committee and it will probably pass the House. As we saw day before yesterday, the Senate's not-good-enough version likely will not pass the Senate... unless Snowe decides to stick with the Democrats. So, nothing has happened, and this is called historic?
And, okay, okay, say both houses get something passed and they then send the two versions in to be "reconciled" for Obama to sign. WHAT will THAT be? Is that even legal? Will everybody vote on it again, or will it be whatever they wanted it to be in the beginning with NO constitutional authority from the legislature? Am I going senile or don't both houses have to pass an identical bill? Are you crazy?
Did something change behind my back?
WTF is going on?
And what do they keep meaning when they say it will cover 96% of Americans? Do they mean that 4% are wealthy enough that it's cheaper to just not be insured, or that 4% live so far from any medical help that making them pay for insurance is too psychedelic even for our government? Do they mean that you don't get covered if you're too poor and they want to punish you with/for something. What is that?
I hope it's the 1st but fear it the later.

I think they vote again after things are reconciled in conference committee.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the 4% are christian scientists. =:-o
