just got my new two gig ipod shuffle

It's a little over an inch and half long, half an inch wide and an eighth of an inch thick.

Whoa.

I got mine in basic chic matte black....

Odd - when I came in to leave a comment the comment box was not there until I reloaded the page.

I got my daughter one of those iPod Touch things for her birthday - it was the only thing she wanted. It is amazing! Ended up getting a wireless router so she didn't have to stay teathered to her computer to use it online. Now she can even use it online at the playground nearly a block away.

She downloaded a free app. from Autodesk - makers of the AutoCAD software - that is a drawing program. It has layers and all kinds of drawing utilities. She spent about 4 hours after she loaded it drawing a picture of a bird looking out of a window at the sunset. WOW! it was awesome.

This thing is also amazing. It was my gift from Apple for all this hassle. I'm wondering if I can use it for a backup disk....

This thing looks awesome! You just solved my problem, I've been wondering what to get for my brother's birthday! (and don't worry, I won't get it in green! ;-) )

I know you're not Steve Jobs, 99 - but would you happen to know why they pulled out of the chamber of commerce in opposition to climate change legislation?

They pulled out because the USCC opposes any emissions controls legislation to help mitigate climate catastrophe. I linked the NYT article about it at the bottom of my "when the air is hollow" post last night.

I want to marry Steve Jobs.

Glad I could help on the birthday present gig... and, yes, stay away from that green gig for a while... for sure....

Oh, and you should stay away from HuffPo, too, because Arianna is DEFINITELY helping pump the public up for an attack on Iran. After her appearance on tv opposite Glenn Greenwald a couple days ago, there can be no doubt left about it. I had no doubt already, but she just blew my mind on that. She's a warmongering right wingnut who just pretended to convert to progressivism.

I know Huffington is a wawrmongering bitch and as you put it, an Israel-licker too.
I check her page a few times a week though to see what the warmongers are saying. I have to know! I don't own a TV, I don't visit any of their sites. She sums up pretty much everything the fascists are saying on her first page.

Good point.

I too occasionally go there to assess how bad it is... because I don't have a tv either... and because I have to check what I see online and hear on the street with our MSM mega-blog culture... but I'm trying to think of ways around it because I am so pissed that blood is coming out of my ears. She's gone from having a pretty great blog at startup, to a tabloid piece of crap, to hiring a couple real journalists and giving everyone hope for some ACTUAL investigative reporting, back to warmongering tabloid mainstream fairly hard to right crap... and the worse she gets, the more tv appearances she gets.

She should be airdropped onto the South Pole.

I have this feeling that the infinitely alluring Steve Jobs has recovered just in the nick of time... that Apple was going to devolve into not much better than other electronic devices because bean counters would have wormed their way too close to the top without the countervailing force of his vision and integrity....
