for some reason this seems saner to me

...than shipping out to the Middle East to slaughter innocents.

It's heartbreaking, and it's making me cry, but it is saner than what the fascists are using them for.

I haven't been reading whatever might be coming out in addition to the basic specs that at least one, but probably three, servicemen went postal. I think it would absolutely be in response to cognitive dissonance so intense it can't be contained by guys with PTSD. It is saner than going over there to murder people or be murdered by them in furtherance of enrichment of plutocrats. Those guys don't like having their altruism smeared with shit so unrelentingly.
