If in your travels you meet the Buddha, throw him through your tv set.

ReplyDeleteThe pig has arrived...
Boss down with H1N1 - office staff freaking out, spraying Lysol everywhere! He was in yesterday all day not feeling well. Diagnosed this morning.
We'll see if I am old enough to have an immunity as they claim!
Go to a good healthfood store and buy some Jarrow Formulas Vitamin D [2500 IU] and you and Rin just start gobbling those puppies. At LEAST two a day... for the rest of time... but ESPECIALLY when there's flus going around.
ReplyDeleteDON'T even think about the vaccination.
I wouldn't do it to my kids either, but that's your call. The vaccine has been deadlier than the virus, and the virus has been WAAAAAAAAY less deadly than the seasonal flu. So just do the D thing and call it good.
OLD PEOPLE HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF D SUPPLEMENTATION... NOT JUST WHEN YOU GET RICKETS LIKE I DID.... It's huge. You gotta have it.
I ain't gettin' no shot!
ReplyDeleteRin went to the doctor yesterday for a sore back and they loaded her up on D.
Meg got the shot since she has asthma which gets real bad when she gets sick, Kae hates needles so she didn't. Rin was forced to since she works for the School District.
It was hilarious to watch the panic here - they all raced off for shots even though I tried to dissuade them. Then they all came back thinking every little sneeze etc. was the bug for sure.
Raining there yet?
ReplyDeleteSupposed to get nasty here by tomorrow night then all the way through at least Thursday.
Here come the pineapples!
By some miracle of insentient zenmistresstude it has not deigned to rain all day....
ReplyDeleteFurther, it has been nearly warm... which ought to mean the sky will open up and drown us all... but it seems not to have piled onto my prescription debacle and I have made it home with almost all my prescriptions, another bill timely paid, a modest amount of important groceries... AND SOME NEW FUZZY SOCKS THAT WERE ON SERIOUS SALE.
This is all going to have to count in the positive column... especially since the bill I paid was my ISP and THAT is set to an extremely low rate for two years... THANK THE BUDDHAS OF THE TEN DIRECTIONS... so I'm feeling that if I live to get to sleep tonight I might make it for another week or even two....
JUST HIT THAT D AND DON'T STOP!!!!!
Seriously.
ReplyDeleteI mean it.
SERIOUSLY.
Yer senility could clear right up! On top of guarding you against dread cancers and flus and keeping yer ticker in shape. Do not let anyone dissuade you from a life of lots of REAL vitamin D. We DO NOT get enough in our dairy products or from the sun, any of us, but most of all us old coots... and WE are the ones who need it the most.
Don't slack! Get the Jarrow kind, the gels, because THAT is the kind I am certain is the REAL thing. It was what finally got my D levels up after nuking me with D for many months.
Muy importante!
D3 - Cholecalciferol?
ReplyDeleteThat's what they gave Rin.
400 IU - it says 100% D. R. Amount
You're talking 12.5 times that. Isn't there a toxicity issue?
.
400 IU is OLD news. New science says blood levels need to be much higher. I'm actually citing the lower end of what is now felt by researchers to be enough. Medicine has not caught up to the research. There's tons of research online, and videos of conferences with speakers talking about the science and what is now considered healthy. There are toxicity issues, but not until you get hundreds of thousands of IUs a day for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThanks
