All these earthquakes over the past few days and when I was bolted awake at 5:30am by cracking and rumbling, I thought my house was coming down around my ears. As always, and so weirdly, not a trace of fear. It wasn't a quake. It was lightning so close it rattled my house. Maybe ten minutes of rapid-fire lightning bolts and thunder and huge rain and howling wind and then I got up and made a pot of coffee before the electricity could decide to go out, and then found myself some disco and danced around my house.
If there were any doubt about electricity being my problem with sleeping and then the long, arduous process of waking up, well, uhm, I think this settles it....
