you know what? i don't believe it!

I flat out don't believe anyone purposely shot that beautiful eagle. It might have been a kid who didn't know what he was shooting. It might have been someone with bad eyesight who thought it was a vulture. Or someone shooting wildly in the air or in the bushes and never knowing what they hit or if they hit it. Bad as this world is, ugly as people get, I can not bring myself to believe someone shot her on purpose.

Some indication she may be okay....

I can believe someone shot it on purpose a thousand times over..I know plenty of hunters that couldnt give two shits what they kill, animals are target practice to them. Not all hunters mind you but plenty yes. We are taking about the same human race that will murder millions just to covet resources arent we?

Many of us, most of us, don't give two shits about how many people we slaughter, but almost every one of us cares about the creatures. Sure, many don't let that stand in the way of profit, or prowess, but neither of those are involved in shooting a bald eagle. So, yes, I suppose some young sociopath was showing off to his brother sociopaths so he could join their gang... or some drunk hurt fuck on the verge of shooting himself decided to try to take one out... but I still don't believe it was a deliberate attempt to kill a bald eagle.... I'm probably just protecting myself, but that's how I find myself seeing it.
