At least this is putting it intelligently... albeit it pisses me off so badly I'm set back into speechlessness again. I can't jump through Baker's little portal into the mouth of Henry Waxman to strangle Henry Waxman or maybe beat him to death for blathering this stuff at the same time as having NO INTENTION OF STOPPING IT. So I'm made mute with rage.

Here's a cheery little link.

We may yet be forced to hope for this, this that we have reviled like nothing else on earth for so long.

Get this: Congress is "enraged"....

And we are supposed to distinguish this from recess how?

BP Aware Of Cracks In Oil Well Two Months Before Explosion
Paul Joseph Watson
Thursday, June 17, 2010

BP was aware of cracks appearing in the Macondo well as far back as February, right around the time Goldman Sachs and BP Chairman Tony Hayward were busy dumping their stocks in the company on the eve of the explosion that led to the oil spill, according to information uncovered by congressional investigators.

The Mining and Mineral Services agency released documents to Bloomberg indicating that BP “was trying to seal cracks in the well about 40 miles (64 kilometers) off the Louisiana coast,” according to the report.

The fissures, which BP began to attempt to fix on February 13, could have played a role in the disaster, though this is a question still being explored by investigators. Improperly sealed, the cracks cause explosive natural gas to rush up the shaft.

“The company attempted a “cement squeeze,” which involves pumping cement to seal the fissures, according to a well activity report. Over the following week the company made repeated attempts to plug cracks that were draining expensive drilling fluid, known as “mud,” into the surrounding rocks,” states the report.

As we previously highlighted, eyewitness evidence indicates that Deepwater Horizon managers knew that the BP oil rig had major problems before its explosion on April 20. A crew member who rescued burning workers on the rig told Houston attorney Tony Buzbee of a conversation between Deepwater Horizon installation manager Jimmy Harrell and someone in Houston. According to the witness, Harrell was screaming, “Are you fucking happy? Are you fucking happy? The rig’s on fire! I told you this was gonna happen.”

The fact that BP managers were aware of problems with the rig and were seemingly unconcerned about fixing them only lends more weight to the already startling indications of some having foreknowledge of the disaster.

As we highlighted last week, on page 37 of British Petroleum’s own investigative report into the oil spill, it is stated that the Hydraulic Control System on equipment designed to automatically seal the well in an emergency was modified without BP’s knowledge sometime before the explosion.

Highly suspicious stock and share trades by people connected to BP before the explosion indicate some extent of foreknowledge.

Goldman Sachs dumped 44% of its shares in BP Oil during the first quarter of 2010 – shares that subsequently lost 36 percent of their value, equating to $96 million. The current chairman of Goldman Sachs is Bilderberg luminary Peter Sutherland, who is also the former chairman of British Petroleum.

Furthermore, as reported by the London Telegraph on June 5th, Tony Hayward, the current BP CEO sold £1.4 million of his shares in the fuel giant weeks before the spill.

On April 12th, just over one week before the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, Halliburton, the world’s second largest oilfield services corporation, surprised some by acquiring Boots & Coots, a relatively small but vastly experienced oil well control company.

Halliburton is named in the majority of some two dozen lawsuits filed since the explosion by Gulf Coast people and businesses who claim that the company is to blame for the disaster.

Halliburton was forced to admit in testimony at a congressional hearing last month that it carried out a cementing operation 20 hours before the Gulf of Mexico rig went up in flames. The lawsuits claim that four Halliburton workers stationed on the rig improperly capped the well.
There are a bunch of links in the original post, in case yer interested.

I hate to tell you, but I think they knew about these cracks last Fall, when the original Macondo drill was cemented off, and that is why they were backing off full capacity at Thunder Horse, gasses entering that reservoir from the nearby Macondo cracks, maybe even believing then they had diverted that flow to Thunder Horse. When they sent the Deepwater Horizon to Macondo in February, they knew about this risk, perhaps thought they could now just muscle past the problem. By April, they figured out they couldn't, tried to cement it off again, and blew everything to kingdom come.

.

Still, where is the straight dope on what has taken place down there? Where is the news of this Landau fellow being allowed to date the oil? Where is there any evidence of the open exchange of CRUCIAL TO THE PUBLIC information? We gotta keep going to the maniacal geniuses of space lizardry to get whiffs of what DECENT and intelligent insiders and outsider experts have to say... try to piece actuality together that way... strain out references to interdimensional beings and unheard pleas for mass visualization efforts. Aren't you SICK of having to fly all over cyberspace to try to piece together disparate bits of evidence for stuff you have EVERY right to be shown whole from government agencies?

DO YOU GET IT YET THAT THEY'RE NOT WORKING FOR US?

  1. Were they ever?

    (working for us)

In the last century or so?

  2. I was wondering that myself as I wrote that. JFK was. I think maybe they were mostly working for us, with varying levels of covert perfidies, up until about 1980, but maybe I only think that because I can't bear to go back with a magnifying glass. I'm sure about Jack and Bobby, but it got dicier and dicier after them. I think LBJ quit early because, even though he got some good stuff through, he was being forced to do heinous things and just gave up. I think the last independent thing a president ever did was Jimmy Carter putting solar panels on the White House roof.

Ergo, there used to be actual public servants in the legislature, too, but not since about the same time frame... except for some allowable impostures and a couple self-marginalizing "clowns" guys who know they can only go so far before they get Wellstoned.

  3. Your cheery link not loading - doesn't time out, keeps trying, but nada...

I watched an hour of the congressional grilling of Tony at lunch today.

His main answer to everything was "I need to wait for the investigation."

He couldn't even come up with the correct amount of money he made last year.

    Colnel Klink syndrome...

    "I know nothing!"

  7. Go back to Chris Landau's - discussion on the benzene in today's report with promises to discuss the other VOC gasses over the next few days.

  8. Yuh. I know all that from representing oil refineries.... I do HATE OpEd news. SERIOUSLY crappy site. Made worse by my severe eye pain.

  9. Crappy in what they present, or the truly crappy layout?

  10. Seriously crappy layout and a lot of total crap content. Thing that REALLY pisses me off the MOST is that sometimes they have really good stuff on there, but it's SO fucked up that half the time my "Readability" feature can't even pick it up. They artificially force you to go to a bunch of pages, even on short pieces and won't give you a print option or a single page option. They're SHITHEADS. They should be thrown in the dungeon if not immediately relieved of what passes for their heads!

  11. I hate that "Here's one paragraph, now go to this next link for the next paragraph so we can cram in some more advertisements" - stretching a six paragraph article to six web pages!

I was somewhere yesterday - MSNBC I think - and it wouldn't let me copy anything out of the page. A right click yielded a pull-down menu which didn't even have copy as an option. cntrl/C didn't work either.

  12. As close as your gonna get to your cowboy in this shoot out :p

    Adm. Allen

This guy and his team should be in charge of inspecting every freakin' rig site in the gulf and beyond .

  13. Well, as you noted the other night, links just seem to disappear.

Several weeks ago I read several articles which revealed that Thad Allen had applied for a job with BP after his retirement next month. I went to find one to plop down here, but after about half an hour of searching couldn't find one. The closest I came was a search report for a Huffpo article containing the requested information, but on reading the article the search found, there was no mention in the article of his job quest, even though it was in the search report!

    ReplyDelete
  14. That has happened to me more times now than I can count... and a few times it did INDEED involve HuffPo having excised pertinent paragraphs from AP stories. They get "intimate" White House pictures if they play nice obedient fascists... and, brother, they AVIDLY do.
