monumental irk befalling your sweet-tempered hostess

.

It seems Blogger has decided to REALLY shave how much you can have on your front page in this big effort to make our blogs the fastest-loading blogs on earth... and this is seriously cutting into what I can do with my posts... my newfangled arrows may have to disappear altogether. Or I could just post the image and MORE you if you want to see if I've made any post to go with it. I think I may have to run off for a bucket of ice for my head in a moment... or I could strip naked and run out in the rain, scare the living crap out of my neighbors. SOMETHING needs to wipe my state of vexation.

  1. Not sure if this can help you out 99..

I have a domain that I don't use on 1 and 1 servers. It's yours if you want it, I will continue to pay the yearly fees , it's not much , I got a great deal on it years ago.

If you want it , I will email you with the particulars.

  3. Well, I'm wrestling with my urges again big time, and I don't know how I'd do with something like that. If you wouldn't mind emailing me with some more particulars... maybe it could help me hash it out in my head better.

I've been trying to see my way clear to get my own site for a while, but I think to have it the way I want it might get entirely too pricey for me, even if a bodhisattva were paying for the bandwidth.

    Bless your heart.

  6. Suddenly, if I put a long post up it radically lowers the number of posts on the front page, despite my setting, and so then I decide, fine, I'll do a MORE break on long ones.... Then I discover the arrows that scream for me to use them instead of my dots or any of the other clunky stuff, except those are images, and using two or more of them in each post, again, radically lowers the number of posts on the front page. I had it all in a balance that kept roughly five days worth of posts and pretty much nearly would align with the sidebar length.... hunky dory... gives people a chance to go back and review if more people have commented on something they were interested in, or to easily get back to something recent, but no. Now Blogger has set some sort of arbitrary limit on how many MBs you can have on your front page. If you go over them, it just automatically bumps off X number of posts to accommodate this arbitrary limit... fucks up the balance... drives things people are still commenting on back a page. Cut me from 28 posts down to 14, bip bam... which sometimes is only a day or two worth of posts AND fucks up my rough balance with my sidebar... beside vexing my visitors.

    Shit! Shit! Shit!

It isn't going to be a problem for people who only do one or two posts a day, or don't use images, let alone big ones, but it REALLY messes with the pace and general affect of this place.

I shoulda run naked in front of my neighbors while it was still light. Now I'm going to have to hit myself with a rolling pin or dip parts of myself in my not-a-bathtub.

Doug sent me the link to his unused domain and I only got a couple tentative clicks in before I had a brain freeze and something cramped in my legendary right trapezius again.

I mean, I don't want to be a bitch or nuthin' but I WORK PRETTY DAMN HARD ON THIS THING! And the fucks at Google don't even give you a means to cyber-strangle them!

  7. I noticed your page seemed to have less posts when I went back to check a comment at an older post that had been there just yesterday. Thought you had done it.

  8. Comcast has been throttling my speed when I try to view or download videos.

It checks out at 1200kbps when I am viewing a standard web page. It drops to 700 or less after about 3 minutes when I go to youtube - without playing a video - 2-300kbps when I play a video.
When I downloaded the two videos from the Awake As One series - the first download ok, the second one was dragging horribly - I check the speed - 37kbps! - less than dialup! Took 1.5 hours to download!

    Then today we get this:

74 key Democrats sign letter to FCC in support of bandwidth throttling.

    BASTARDS - ALL OF THEM!

  9. Nope. Blogger did it to me. It's done it twice now. First it was that monster 9/11 lecture that did it, and then it was the arrows in my posts. I had to do a lot of pissed-off flying around to get my finger on this. Then I had to go back and rip a bunch of arrows out of posts to get the page full up again.
