You know what, I think PCR is dead wrong on the "blowing off steam" bit. McChrystal was playing HARDball. He was getting even with GPY/Biden for HILLARY. That was very clear. His COIN war has gone south and he's done shit that should have gotten him fired a few times. AND even if he were "just venting" it was MANDATORY he be fired... for the sake of the Constitution, for the sake of the improbability that the United States ever gets into a war we didn't start, ACTUALLY MUST DEFEND OURSELVES. It HAS to be the civilian government calling the shots and that testosterone addled assassin does not do subordination to civilians. Slaughter them, yes. Obey them, not even.

ReplyDeleteI don't think the lizards are going to go human even by cataclysm! I think we either kill them or suffer extinction. Possibly just locking them up and throwing away the key would be good enough, but I really don't think they will go peacefully. I don't think they'd allow themselves to be taken alive. So, sez me, fine. Die lizard scum.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Betrayus is going to run against GPY. He would have to start his run in six or eight months, if recent tradition holds, and to do that he would have to resign his post... which would not go over so well... or, I should be quick to qualify, NOT if the current level of barking mad doesn't increase by then, anyway. Plus, I'm pretty sure he'd said unequivocally NO to the idea a few months ago....

I think Jebby opening his yap yesterday is more ominous... EVEN though that too depends heavily on the barking mad levels increasing significantly. Sarah Palin is PERFECT for the job... unless Hillary goes Republican... or Green... pretty soon... and the bit from McChrystal could be seen as her opening shot across the bow.

ReplyDeleteYour right about McCrystal, he was a bad ass right from boot camp, but he's the guy you want fighting a war. The only trouble is , this isn't a war, it's an political occupation. Betrayus is better suited for it, pay off a few warlords, keep Karzi in opium, build a few casinos and SHAZZAM, Shaharizar!

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking it's a damn shame a McChrystal had to be wasted on this FILTHY empire-building. I'm sure he'd vastly have preferred not to have to delude himself like this to keep his manhood, and he would be, or would have been, the PERFECT guy in a war we HAD to fight.
I don't have a problem with killers-in-defense-of-life, with warriors who go out to protect the women and children and neighbors. It's only assassins for power and money who need to be stopped forever.
