Not enough, far as I can tell. Not anything like enough. I think the individual megaliths he erects on the internet are barely grazed if they are seen at all. So few seem to have sat down with his stuff and tried to digest it. I, for once, do not blame this on you.
It's too much. It's good for some alien explorers in the distant future when earth might finally have stopped being too radioactive to explore. It will be good for some galactic library, but who's hearing him when he communicates this way? I mean, getting on with Max is a prime way to get some more eyeballs on his transcendentally good work, but—let me be generous—let's say 95% percent of this population will give it a light skim, maybe take a sample of the comments and move on. Another 3% will give it a hard skim and click some of his links. 1% might read it and skim his links and get blown away and make a comment and then end up with a conviction that bad juju has gone into our present state of affairs. The last 1% might have done all this and taken something from it that moves them to discuss it with someone else, or make part of it form part of their own work.
In this interview, he states he thinks we might have two years before all hell breaks loose. I think that is too long. He might be right, but that is too long. Do the math.

This is understood, but be aware that you (or they) are still able to state truth. Know that (you/they) have a large audience to hear and appreciate it. This is (your/their) responsibility as media people. If (you/they) forfeit (your/their) free will, then (you/they) have lost everything. Or (they/you) could just choose to smile and say nothing and/or lie like everyone else in mass media, but we'd have as much respect for you as we do for Mr. Elliot, and it would be declining as fast as his every time he comes on the morning announcements. Also, (you/they) have to take responsibility for the things that (you/they) say.
ps-my math says 1/1/11
LISTEN UP, you are about to get yer change.

I'd say there are at least 52 million people in this country with some clue as to what is really going on. My last employer has a clue, they will still lose the business and maybe a house(like the employer before them), but they have a clue. When 52 million people have had enough cluelessness(I'll call it benefits) they will get dumped flat on there asses...that's a big clue.
I hope this is out there enough.

Watch trailer, buy album, change your world.
I like the Living Legends piece, but I don't like the words "change" and "hope" anymore. I want the real deal before they turn back into okay words to hear. I'm afraid all this youth energy might really have died by the fact of Obama's betrayals.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we can put our faith in the kids anymore. I don't think we should be in the recording studio about raising Africa, or stopping wars, or getting election integrity, or even cleaning up our sick planet. I think we should all be aiming our direct energy... not written or sung or painted... our bodies... our lives... at bringing down the control structure. That's the only thing that opens it back up.
People can SAY all manner of courageous-sounding things. And, yes, people are moved by it, witness John Lennon, still a huge force at age 70 and dead, but they have control of too much for even that. Mano-a-mano, face-to-face, in person, all of us... or it's just sophistry... including this.
And, yes, I know they put that meme about the kids losing heart into heavy rotation two years ago, and that's PART of why I think it applies, that even the best and the brightest of our kids will think talking a good line cuts it.
ReplyDeleteThe twenty somethings with a clue are a hell of a lot better that the forty somethings I know.
ReplyDeleteGood.
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about getting 'er done. Are they good enough for that? And if they are, what's keeping them? Every day they stay in this is another drip of the Chinese Water torture of social conditioning that bids them lay down and nap... turns them into the walking self-murdered.
I'm talking about knowing which is up and which is down so as to be able to get a breathe of air.
ReplyDeleteI can't think one person forty+(that I know personally) who isn't diggin' a hole for themselves.
Most of them put an excavator on their home equity line of credit and passed out shovels to their friends and neighbors to help did a hole big enough for the house, the dog, the kids, and their retirement to disappear into.
Walking Self-Murdered and ignorant enough to do it all over, happily, if they can have their Barby and Ken McMansion.
I was in my twenties when I sold my house, stopped using debt, and moved OTG.
ReplyDeleteBip bap...Grid Sucka
I think there are a few of us sixties relics left who grok the situation pretty well, but it only stands to reason the twentysomethings would be more with it than the fortysomethings. School isn't what breaks you. It sets you up to be broken, and doesn't teach what you need to know, but you have the whole hormonal differentiation urge still going for you, a natural tendency to NOT fall for establishment shit. By the time yer forty, you have been getting beaten to shit by the job market and all the credit crap and, worse, you have raised kids, or are still raising them with not much prospect of getting to STOP. You've been forced to lose so much blood, sweat and tears that you can't bear up under the loss of it all... or THINK you can't, and the whole world agrees with you.
ReplyDeleteAnd NOW... fuck, Sam... how much WORSE is that now?
No. Truly, Sam. At every turn it's "pick yer fights" and "go along to get along" and the penalties, the social and professional penalties are STEEP. Almost no one knows the bliss on the other side of those penalties because they are so steep. Almost no one will hang in, determined, and feel the joy of getting there... and not JUST because it's so hard. It's so hard and there are NO guarantees. That's too much for too many. I mean, you do not JUST lose your social standing. People who have meant so much to you for so long just become vexed and stultified and uncomfortable and drop your ass. It's way more than their mortgages and light switches.
ReplyDeleteAfter you come out on the other side, it is a constant clash between compassion and anger, between love and impatience, between the urge to run and dance naked and the urge to knock blocks off. You have left home. You don't STOP paying that steep price EVER. So it's little wonder there are so few, little wonder people are so easy to enslave.
And are you the kind of off the grid that can keep going when society falls? And for how long?
We should be making a tribe... a different kind of tribe... the kind that goes up, not down. The very tribal instincts used against us should be turned back into the positive... or we're toast.
I am making a tribe.
ReplyDeleteHas society not fallen? Does it not have to get up before it recovers?
99, I would love to "get 'er done" turn this junk show around...get 60 million pot smoking food stamp users out it streets screaming "kill whitey"
NOT GONNA HAPPEN
They won't even see collapse until their getting a plate of it in a soup line.
It is a revolution, it's in my garden, it's in a buried storage container...it's always been here, the truth.
This is where you build heaven or live in hell.
One Planet.
ps-I know...with this crowd...I, us, tribe, won't make it very long. I'm not a breeder anyhow so, I'll be happy doing my best and helping out folks around. It not like I didn't jerk the wheel alittle.
pss- "We should be making a tribe... a different kind of tribe... the kind that goes up, not down. The very tribal instincts used against us should be turned back into the positive... or we're toast."
I love you.
I've turned all my attention to my tribe, that's why I'm not in the streets. My current project is worms...soil. If people took the time they spend online and put it in the garden the revolution would be over. I mean really, what's a revolution that can't feed itself?
